When you're a turkey, you don't take any chances. They showed up a week early to the “Blessing of the Animals” just to secure their spot.
On August 30, this event takes place at Simsbury Library’s front lawn and is sponsored by The First Church of Simsbury.

Simsbury Public Library expands its outreach each year and now, thanks to the initiative of a local middle schooler, a Little Free Food Pantry is open at our library.

It started in the spring when J.J. Hanrahan, then a 7th grader at Henry James Memorial School, was contemplating a project for the school's Global Citizen Challenge.
"I was trying to think of a project that would be both attainable and also make a big impact on the community helping those in need.”

Library patrons are dropping off food when they pick up their books. Town residents who are in need of food are selecting a few items. Libraries have always been more than just places to house books—they are spaces where community connections thrive.
