Indonesia military continue terrorizing West Papuans
Recent reports from Yahukimo, Intan Jaya, and Nduga raise serious concerns about shootings, deaths, detentions, and abuses during security operations. Some accounts remain disputed and urgently need independent investigation.
As of late August 2026, Human Rights Monitor estimated that at least 127,031 people remained displaced by armed conflict and military operations across West Papua.
Behind these reports are real people. Families who have lost loved ones. Children growing up in fear. Communities forced to leave their homes.
Our people deserve safety, justice, and a future without fear.
West Papuans are speaking out and demanding answers. The world must listen. Indonesia must allow independent UN human rights access to West Papua, and those responsible for abuses must be held accountable.
