Our Shoreline store is so ready to host Whiskers In Need from Mountlake Terrace, WA! This organization supports cats arriving from Adams County Pet Rescue (ACPR) and other small rescues, and provides excellent care while they await their forever homes. 🐱

Maisy is a QH-type red roan filly who was rescued with more than 11 other horses during a cockfighting bust! She's about 2 years old, and has a spunky personality. She's currently learning the ropes in SAFE's training program, and does it with confidence! 💪

Wednesday is a grey Andalusian who was also part of the bust, and her full-time job when she first came to SAFE was to raise her c**t, Venturo. Since he's been weaned, she's started in the horsemanship program, and is often described as sweet and mellow. 💕

She's also an excellent auntie to Marigold, a filly who was weaned early in an attempt to help the mother maintain weight while in a fragile state. Unfortunately, after extensive veterinary care, the mare's condition still deteriorated, and she was humanely euthanized.

(Peep Marigold in the back corner of the field... She loves learning from these awesome aunties!)🐴

🔶 Our CHARITY OF THE MONTH APPLICATION is NOW OPEN! 🔶

Do you know of an animal rescue, shelter, sanctuary, or other nonprofit that could benefit from some extra support?

Our Charity of the Month Partnership Application for the 2027 calendar year is open from August 22 – October 31!

Through our Charity of the Month program, Bella's Voice thrift stores team up with an animal nonprofit in Washington State to raise awareness and funds for their mission!

Selected partners receive a full month of fundraising support, including checkout roundups, direct contributions, and 50% of sales on an Event Day where your team visits and tables in-store. 🐾

Eligible Organizations Must:
• Be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a valid EIN.
• Be based in WA State.
• Have a mission towards animal welfare.

Grant sizes typically range from $5,000 – $10,000+, and we have approximately 20-22 spots available!

All applications will be reviewed after the window closes.

Save A Forgotten Equine works toward rescuing, rehabilitating and re-educating horses facing neglect or abuse!🐴❤️

They provide them with the best opportunity for a permanent home and a lifetime of safety! It is enjoyable watching these horses transform into their best healthiest selves, and working around people who are willing to donate their time to giving these magnificent creatures the life that they deserve!

There's no better duo than Bridgit and Bob! 💕

Bridgit is a brown and white pinto with the sweetest disposition who came to SAFE in 2012, and even 14 years later, she is still one of the most interactive and affectionate mares in existence!

She was adopted in 2017 as a riding horse, and enjoyed a family of grandma, mom, and kids, but in 2025, circumstances unfortunately changed, so she came back to SAFE and is looking for a new family.

Bob describes Bridgit as one of the most beloved horses in the organization—(not that they could ever really choose a favorite)!

He started volunteering at SAFE in 2021 and joined Barn Staff in 2024, supporting the chore teams, caring for the horses, and helping maintain the facilities. He first discovered a love of horses on a family friend's farm in southwest Michigan while growing up in suburban Detroit.

With SAFE, Bob enjoys learning about equine behavior and care, and shares his experience with volunteers and the public. He has a great connection with the horses, and together, they're rediscovering his "inner cowboy." 😄
