āļøFREE ADOPTION DAYšŸ±šŸ¶
Stop by today between 10-6 to adopt a cat or dog for free! All adoptions are sponsored by the ASPCA.

All dogs (over 6 months) and cats (over 5 months) are of no charge to you! Donations are appreciated, but not required.

As always, please be patient with our staff! They will be working hard to make sure every animal finds the right home for them! Worried about the rain? Donā€™t be! We have plenty of indoor space to meet your new best friend.

Bring your friends, family, or neighbors, and bring home that dog or cat that youā€™ve been waiting for. ā¤ļø

10/14/2026

Our shelter is absolutely FULL with animals that deserve loving homes. These free adoption days help get so many cats and dogs into new homes with new families.

No dog or cat should have to live life in a kennel. If youā€™re looking to add a new member to your family, stop by on Thursday and adopt a cat or dog for free! Adoptions are sponsored by the ASPCA.

If you know of someone who is looking for a pet, share, comment, or tag them in this post!

šŸ¾ Your next best friend might be right here. ā¤ļø

These dogs are still waiting for someone to see their picture and think, ā€œThatā€™s my dog.ā€ šŸ„¹

Each one has their own personality, quirks, and kind of love to give. Check out their photos, read their little bios, and see if someone catches your eye!

Weā€™re closed today (Monday), but weā€™ll be back Tuesdayā€“Friday, 10 AMā€“6 PM for adoptions.

Come meet them in person. Your new best friend is waiting. šŸ¶šŸ”

ā¤ļø Some people donā€™t just care about animals. They show up for them.

A huge thank-you to Thomas Hensel and his loyal sidekick, Thor, for another incredibly generous gift to the animals at SCHS.

Thomas recently donated $2,000 to help cover the heartworm treatment costs for Leah and Bramble, two dogs in our care who have a long road ahead of them.

Thomas has a way of putting animalsā€™ needs first, and this donation is another example of that. Heartworm treatment is expensive, but itā€™s necessary to give these dogs the chance at healthy, happy lives in their forever homes.

Thomas, thank you for being in their corner and for stepping up when they need it most. Youā€™re helping save lives, and weā€™re so grateful.

Sometimes, a donation is more than money. Itā€™s a second chance. And for Leah and Bramble, thatā€™s exactly what this is. šŸ¾ā¤ļø

āļøFOSTER FEATUREāļø
We are so proud of our dogs in fosters! Whenever a dog goes into a foster home, we learn more about their personalities, needs, and abilities.
Each of our dogs have really been able to shine! Gojo, Sally, Grover, Leah, and Lainey are still up for adoption, even though theyā€™re currently in a foster home. If youā€™d like to meet them, please call the shelter so we can schedule an appointment!
These cuties will also be available for our free adoption day! Tell your friends!
