We’re excited to share that Serenity House will be hosting a resource table at the 5th Annual Recovery Awareness Walk & 5K Resource Fair! 💜

Stop by our table to learn more about who we are, what we do, and how we support men in recovery in our community. Whether you’re looking for resources, want to get involved, or just want to connect — we’d love to see you!

This family-friendly event will include a 5K, recovery awareness walk, guest speakers, and live music. Come out and support recovery and celebrate hope with us!

April is National Volunteer Month, a time to recognize the people who make literacy work possible.

Across Wisconsin, 3,102 active volunteers are supporting learners in communities statewide, contributing an estimated $4,749,426 in value through their time and dedication.

Their impact goes far beyond the numbers, helping adults build skills, confidence, and new opportunities for the future.

We are grateful for every volunteer making this work possible.

We offer adults free tutoring in reading and writing. If you'd like to share the fun of reading with another adult, we'd love to have you as a tutor!

National Pencil Day 2026 is celebrated on Monday, March 30, 2026. This day honors the invention of the modern pencil and its significance in education, art, and communication. It encourages people to appreciate the power of writing and drawing by hand, even in the age of digital tools. Let us here at Shawano County Literacy Council help you to put your pencil to work! We teach adults, one on one, to read and write more effectively. All services and materials are supplied free of charge.
