Congratulations to Suton Paulson, the recipient of the inaugural Outstanding Youth Exhibitor award!

Over the last 30 years, the Northeast Wisconsin High Protein Show has experienced tremendous growth, especially in the number of junior exhibitors. This award was created to celebrate that growth while encouraging the values we hope to foster through this show. It’s given to a young person who exemplifies outstanding character, sportsmanship, passion and involvement with their animals.

“When you’re watching Sutton with his animals or see him at the clipping chute, you can tell he really cares and puts a lot of pride into his work. He genuinely enjoys it and conducts himself with a lot of humility,” said the selection committee.

30 shows wouldn’t be possible without a lot of support, generosity and time from volunteers.

That’s why we recognized 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 with the inaugural 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 award this past weekend. For many years, he has generously given his time to the Northeast Wisconsin High Protein Show, even as far back as the early ‘90s when it was just a few breeds getting together in someone’s front yard.

Current and former show committee members describe him as one of the nicest, most genuine people they know and someone who is always willing to help wherever needed. For the last 30+ years, Rich could be found ringside at the show, ensuring animals are lined up, ready to go and that classes run smoothly.

It’s because of people like him that this show has grown into what it is over the last 30 years. Congratulations, Rich, and thank you for all your support over the years!

What a show!

244 animals representing five different breeds graced the ring this weekend in Shawano. For judge Darin Hill, two animals came to the top for Supreme Champion honors.

Supreme Champion Cow went to the winning Ayrshire three-year-old, 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗵 exhibited by Thayne, Bradin & Caylee Bjelland of Gillet, WI.

Supreme Champion Heifer was the top Brown Swiss summer yearling, 𝗞𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝗴𝗼 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗴 𝗘𝗧𝗩, exhibited by Richardson Genetics of Shelbyville, TN.

Good morning, exhibitors! A few important reminders for this weekend:

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Multiple events will be taking place at the fairgrounds this weekend. To account for the extra traffic, please park trailers and campers in the designated areas shown on the map below.

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗿𝗲 & 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹: Dumpsters located throughout the fairgrounds are for manure and bedding only. Please dispose of all trash in the garbage cans and keep dumpsters free of trash.

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻 & 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻-𝘂𝗽: Before departing, please take another walk through and remove all trash from your pack area to help make clean-up as efficient as possible for our volunteers.

4:45 PM - Exhibitor Meeting & Smoked Pulled Pork Meal in honor of our 30th show
6 PM - Youth Showmanship Contest

7:30 AM - All animals must be checked in
8 AM - Show begins with cow classes

While many exhibitors are making the trip to Shawano this weekend, we know there are plenty of dairy enthusiasts who'll be following along from home.

One week from now, the fairgrounds will be buzzing with excitement and memories in the making! Anyone else looking forward to it as much as we are?

As we put the finishing touches on the show book, 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁-𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 if you haven't already done so. Doing this will help ensure the book is as accurate as possible and keep things running smoothly at the show.

Our youth are our future!

We’re excited to host a 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰 for youth exhibiting at the show and local youth interested in improving their skills on Friday, June 19. Led by Laura Styczynski, the clinic will feature separate junior and senior sessions, each tailored to the age and experience level of participants.
