September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month
This month, let’s remind each other that you are never a burden, your life matters, and you don’t have to face your darkest moments alone.
Sometimes the people who need help the most are the ones who say, “I’m fine.” So check in. Send the text. Make the call. Sit beside someone and listen. You don’t need to have the perfect words, you just need to show that you care.
Let’s create a world where asking for help is met with compassion instead of judgment. Where people feel safe saying, “I’m struggling.” And where no one feels like they have to suffer in silence.
Check on your people. Listen. Reach out. Stay.
If you’re struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or a crisis service for support. You matter more than you know.
September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, and this year's theme is “Changing the narrative: Start the conversation,” moving away from silence, stigma, and discrimination toward openness, understanding, encouragement, and support. Moreover! Mark your calendars: 9/8 is ! Join the nationwide effort to raise awareness about the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline and promote accessible mental health support. This year's theme, "988 Reasons: Your reason is reason enough," is a reminder that you don't have to be in crisis to reach out. Whatever you're facing - big or small - your reason for seeking support is reason enough. Learn more and find out how to get involved at samhsa.gov/988Day.
