Today we had an awesome group from Opportunity Services of Byron stop by for a tour of the radio station and hang out with Brent and Julie. Last week the Byron DSS site hosted the 2nd annual water day! Everyone had a blast trying out the slip and slide, including the staff! At the same time there was a water gun and water balloon fight, no one was safe from getting wet! We ended the day with ice cream treats on the patio. It was a great way to end a fun summer!

Congratulations to Evan on beginning his new role at Mayo Clinic where he will be working at the inventory center.

Evan’s journey with Opportunity Services began after meeting OS staff at RAIL, continued through Project SEARCH, and has now grown into long-term support through our Supported Employment program as he starts his career at Mayo Clinic.

From exploring career opportunities to celebrating this exciting milestone, we're incredibly proud to have been part of Evan's employment journey. His dedication and hard work have helped him reach this achievement, and we're excited to see him continue to grow in his new role.

Outside of work, Evan is especially grateful for the unwavering support of his grandma, who has been a constant source of encouragement throughout his journey.

Congratulations, Evan! Wishing you all the best as you begin this exciting new opportunity.

Thank you to the officers at Anoka PD who took the time to visit with some of our DSS individuals in C**n Rapids! We loved learning more about what you do, the services you provide with service animals as well as letting us explore the different types of police cars inside and out. What a blast!

Congratulations to Caden on his new job at Burlington in Southeastern Minnesota!

Caden will be working in the back room, helping with shipments, managing cardboard, and, hopefully soon, learning to process and tag shoes before they reach the sales floor. We're excited to see him grow in this new role and develop new skills along the way!

When he's not at work, Caden enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing video games.

Caden first joined Opportunity Services through Project SEARCH and is now continuing his journey through our Supported Employment program. His hard work, dedication, and willingness to learn have helped him reach this exciting milestone, and we couldn't be more proud.

Congratulations, Caden! We can't wait to see all you'll accomplish in your new position.

Our Savage DSS group had the opportunity of touring Unmapped Brewery in Minnetonka! Thanks for having us and the Root Beer was delicious!

Some of our C**n Rapids DSS individuals had the amazing opportunity to visit the base and hanger with Life Link lll in Blaine! This was a very cool experience learning about the life saving measures their response teams provide. Huge shout out and thank you to all involved!

Last week OS was a sponsor in the annual golf tournament benefiting The ARC of SE MN. Our team showed up ready to win! It was a hot day but we had a large group set up at our favorite hole and hand out OS gear and cheering on the golfers that came by. We even got to take a few rides on the carts and hit a few balls! Looking forward to next year!

DSS programs from Red Wing, Byron, Rochester, Woodbury, Savage and C**n Rapids enjoyed a MN Twins game last week! Everyone had a blast and what a game to be at with walk off Grand Slam by Clemens for the win in the bottom of the 9th inning! Minnesota Twins

Thank you to Rochester International Airport for giving us a tour of the facilities. The group enjoyed getting a behind the scenes look at how the airport functions on a daily basis. The highlight was watching the planes land and getting a close up look at the firetruck!
