Each Den meets twice a month and we usually hold 1 Pack meeting a month (during the school year). During Den meetings, the kiddos work towards earning belt loops for both required and elective adventures. We also sprinkle in some community service projects as well. An example of a few of our outings over the last couple years included snow tubing, a Saints game, visiting a llama farm, mini golfing
, Base Camp rock climbing and archery night, and Grand Slam. A few of the big events we do each year are Pinewood Derby, Rocket Launch, Ice Fishing, Raingutter Regatta and Family Camp. We also participate in a few day camps and district camps like a fall day camp, Polar Cubs, and summer camp. Some examples of community service projects we've done are park clean-ups, adopt a senior for the holidays, Feed My Starving Children, helping at HyVee's Veterans Breakfast for Vets, caroling at the senior center and food distribution and gift distributions at the CAP Agency. During the summer we usually just plan one outing/event a month, just to keep the kiddos active and connected until the start of the next school year. The great thing about Scouts is it's flexible with your schedule. If you can't make a meeting or event it's not a problem. You just attend what you can and you can make things up on your own time. With Scouting, you get out of it what you put into it.
