Work adjacent to the Lake Loop is mostly complete and the City has approved opening the trail. Please exercise caution near the northeast corner of the lake, as there is still some final bits of work being completed.

The Lake Loop will be closed starting tomorrow (9/8) due to construction to fix the major erosion issue near the northeast corner of the lake. The Blue and Green loops and pump track will remain open. Will post when a projected completion date is known.

This Week's Maintenance Update (8/19) and Upcoming Closure (8/28-30):

Our crew wrapped up some more work this past Wednesday. A finer layer of bituminous gravel was added over the top of the work we did two weeks ago to lock the coarse base layer together. Get out and enjoy some rollers like our local Shakopee Mountain Bike Team does. Thank you to Bituminous Roadways for the gravel and Lano Equipment for the use of the skid loader! We wouldn't get anywhere without these locals partnerships and volunteers. As always, Cities Edge Motorsports was a big help too!

Upcoming Closure (8/28-8/30):
The Minnesota Cycling Association will be hosting a race weekend for middle and high school racers. Come on out and spectate if you're in the area.

The Xcel MtB Park is back open! Thank you for staying clear this week as we made repairs and put down another 110 gallons of glue on high wear areas. We will likely continue this routine for a few more years.

In other news, The Minnesota Cycling Association will be hosting a race weekend at Quarry Lake Park on the weekend of August 29 &30th. Expect another closure announcement as we approach those dates.

Upcoming Closure (Tues 8/4 - Friday 8/7)

Xcel MtB Park will be closed to the public from Tuesday at 8am through Friday at 10pm this week. Get out and enjoy the great conditions this weekend before then. We will be moving six semi loads of gravel out to the new section by the highway and applying trail glue to several berms throughout the trail system. In our experience, the glue needs about two days to cure and be rideable. Thanks for staying away during this time!

Thank you to S M Hentges & Sons Inc. for the gravel material donation!
