Thanks to everyone for helping make our Pig in the Park & Family Fun Fair a success today!

We had enough food to feed up to 700 people. We appreciate everyone who came by to enjoy a free meal.

Plus, we had live music by local band Fly By Night, a bounce house, a clown handing out lion-shaped balloons, a Seymour Fire Department firetruck, the Jackson County Public Library Library on Wheels and several community booths, including Girl Scouts, Culver's of Seymour, Sweet Cheeks Diaper Pantry, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, Schneck Medical Center Guild and Seymour Police Department Project Lifesaver.

Thanks to Walmart Seymour for donating chips and buns, Pepsi of Seymour for donating drinks and Outreach Ministries of Seymour for donating cookies! We also served grilled pork tenderloin sandwiches, hot dogs and baked beans. Thanks to John Jennings, Curt Staley, Dennis Carlson and Steve Gault for cooking the meat, thanks to the many other Lions and community members who helped serve food and assisted with various tasks and thanks to members of the Seymour High School baseball team for helping with setup and cleanup.

The Lions motto is “We Serve, and this event is one of many ways we do just that.

Listen to that sizzle!

The grilled pork tenderloin is on the grill for our annual Pig in the Park & Family Fun Fair. We’ll have hot dogs, too, along with baked beans, chips, a cookie and a drink— ALL FREE!

Stop by Gaiser Park in Seymour from noon to 4 p.m. There’s also live music, an inflatable, a clown, a face painter and community booths.
