This week, our Leadership Tomorrow Advisory Board (LTAB) gathered for our annual retreat, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead!

We spent the day planning, brainstorming, and preparing for the incredible Class of 2027. Together, we reflected on our mission and focused on how we can continue to Introduce. Inform. Inspire. Involve. the next generation of leaders in Sevier County.

A huge thank you to Oak Haven for graciously hosting us and providing the perfect setting for a productive and inspiring day.

The countdown to August is officially on, and we can’t wait to welcome our newest class and begin another year of learning, growth, and connection. The future is bright, and we’re ready to get started!

Synergy and Sharpen the Saw were the themes of the day for our next to last program day!

The Leadership Tomorrow Class of 2026 learned, embraced, and upheld these principles throughout a meaningful and engaging day.

We started at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast from Flapjack’s and gained insight into how synergy is applied in daily business operations from General Manager Dustin Ivey. A behind the scenes tour of the aquarium showed us how collaboration leads to stronger, more effective outcomes than working alone. We also learned how different personalities contribute to effective teamwork during our DISC activity. Thank you to Ripley’s Aquarium staff and Flapjack’s!

We then headed to Bennett’s BBQ for a fabulous lunch. We are so appreciative of their hospitality and for taking such great care of us!

Next, we visited Ober Mountain! We rode the tram with our accountability partners and heard from Tim Richardson, President of Total Development Resources Inc., about the importance of focusing on personal growth, balance, and renewal. He encouraged us to continually invest in ourselves so we can perform at our best. Thank you, Tim!

We wrapped up the day sharpening the saw by zip lining, enjoying the wildlife habitat, and having an ice cream social. Thank you, Ober!

What a great Habit 5 program day planned by the Habit 5 Team! Today we focused on “Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood.”

We started the morning with a wonderful breakfast at Compass Margaritaville (thank you!) and heard from General Manager Sarah Crisp, who shared real-life hospitality scenarios that brought today’s principle to life.

Next, we traveled to Sky Pirates of Mermaid Bay, where Top Concepts Managing Partner Chucky Blalock gave us a business owner’s perspective on understanding customers and developing attractions. And yes, we squeezed in a little mini golf too! ⛳️

At Splash Country, Revenue Operations Manager Andrew McDonald and Senior Manager of Operations Lauren Lowery walked us through decision-making and park performance challenges through the lens of today’s habit.

A big thank you to Anakeesta for a delicious lunch!

We wrapped up the day at WildSide, where Owner and President Bryce Bentz shared how this habit can even serve as a powerful risk management tool. Our team-building DISC activity was a UTV tour, and it was a blast!

A huge thank you to all of our speakers and hosts who helped bring Habit 5 to life for our class today. Learning to truly listen and understand others makes us stronger leaders and stronger partners in our community. What a fantastic day!
