Pigeon Forge Police Chief Richard Catlett Receives Paul Harris Fellow Award — Pigeon Forge Police Chief Richard Catlett was recently presented with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award by Terry Bryan, President of the Pigeon Forge Rotary Club.

The Paul Harris Fellow Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to the ideals and purpose of Rotary through service to their community and beyond. Chief Catlett was honored for his dedication to Rotary's mission and his continued commitment to serving the citizens of Pigeon Forge.

Through his leadership with the Pigeon Forge Police Department and his involvement with the Pigeon Forge Rotary Club, Chief Catlett has demonstrated a commitment to making a positive difference both locally and throughout the broader community.

Rotary International recognizes Chief Catlett's contribution to Rotary's purpose, as well as his outstanding service to his community through both the Pigeon Forge Rotary Club and the local law enforcement agency he leads.

The Paul Harris Fellow Award is named in honor of Paul Harris, founder of Rotary, and is one of Rotary's highest forms of recognition for individuals who exemplify the organization's commitment to service above self.

"Chief Catlett's dedication to the Pigeon Forge community and his commitment to service exemplify the spirit of Rotary," said Terry Bryan, President of the Pigeon Forge Rotary Club. "We are proud to recognize him with this award and grateful for the leadership and service he provides to our community."

Chief Catlett's recognition reflects the strong partnership between local civic organizations and law enforcement and highlights the importance of community leaders working together to make Pigeon Forge and the surrounding area a better place to live, work, and visit.

The Pigeon Forge Rotary Club welcomed Marilyn Childress, President of the Veterans Heritage Site Foundation, as its guest speaker on Wednesday, September 2.

Childress shared an informative presentation about the mission and work of the Veterans Heritage Site Foundation and the many ways the organization honors and remembers America’s veterans.

During her presentation, Childress discussed the Foundation’s efforts to locate and identify the graves of veterans, helping ensure that those who served our country are not forgotten. She also spoke about the organization’s work placing wreaths on veterans’ graves as a meaningful way to recognize their service and sacrifice.

The Foundation’s work is an important reminder that honoring veterans does not end when their service is complete. By locating graves, preserving veterans’ histories, and placing wreaths to commemorate their service, the organization helps keep the legacy of America’s veterans alive for future generations.

The Pigeon Forge Rotary Club appreciated the opportunity to hear from Childress and learn more about the Foundation’s ongoing efforts.

“Every veteran has a story, and every veteran deserves to be remembered,” said Childress. “Our goal is to honor their service and make sure their sacrifices are never forgotten.”
