Sequim Food Bank The Sequim Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides food to our community. We are a community-supported organization.
(1)

Our goal is to ensure that "No one goes hungry in our Community." We strive to highlight five core values in our work:

• Compassion and Respect: Turn no one away from services and always encourage positive relationships with clients and the community.

• Stewardship & Sustainability – Be responsible stewards of our resources with focus on providing well maintained, safe facility and equipment and minimizing waste as possible.

• Education & Prevention – Commit to promoting healthy eating while reducing hunger and striving to understand, eliminate and prevent the root causes of hunger.

• Collaboration & Cooperation – Engage and involve a network of community members.

• Diversity & Multiculturalism – Understand the diverse individual and cultural needs in our community. The Sequim Food Bank assisted more than 2,100 different families at least once in 2014. Approximately 30% of the food we send "out the door" helps to feed a child under the age of 18; approximately 20% helps to feed an adult over the age of 55. Food drives and donations from local groceries account for much of the food we distribute, while financial contributions allow us to maintain a regular supply of important basics like milk and eggs. Volunteers are the heart of our operation. The Sequim Food Bank has more than 50 active adult volunteers and more than a dozen active youth volunteers.

Tomorrow, there’s a seat at the table!

Our friends at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Sequim are serving a hot community breakfast here at the Sequim Food Bank tomorrow morning, Sunday from 9–10:30 AM.

Come as you are. Bring a neighbor. Stay for a meal and a little community.

Breakfast is offered on the first and third Sunday of every month, and everyone is welcome.

We’re so grateful for the people who make space for our community to gather, connect, and care for one another.

Nearly $7,000 raised. Every item donated. So many neighbors helped.

Our silent auction raised nearly $7,000 for Sequim Food Bank, thanks to the generosity of local businesses, community members, and everyone who came out to participate.

Every donated item, every bid, and every helping hand helped turn community generosity into something tangible: food on the tables of our neighbors. These funds help us keep food on our shelves, in our freezers, and available to the people in our community who count on us.

To everyone who donated an item, placed a bid, helped organize the event, or spread the word: THANK YOU! You’re helping make sure our neighbors have access to the food they need, and reminding us what’s possible when a community comes together.

This is what community looks like. This is Everyone at the Table.

A little community support goes a long way!

A huge thank-you to Dutchman Roofing for donating their time and expertise to install new fans and roof vents in our freezer and bread building at the Sequim Food Bank.

These improvements help us take better care of the space where we store food for our community. We’re grateful for local businesses who share their skills and help keep our work moving forward.

Thank you, Dutchman Roofing, for being part of what makes this community so special!

Getting ready for winter is easier when we do it together!

Join us Friday, October 23, for our Get Ready for Winter Day! Along with free winter clothing, we’re bringing community partners together to connect neighbors with helpful resources for the colder months ahead.

Here are just two of the partners who will be there:

🧡 Peninsula Behavioral Health offers mental health, substance use, outreach, and other services for people of all ages in our community. They’re committed to making care accessible, accepting most insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare, and screening for financial assistance. Hope Starts Here!

⚡ Clallam PUD will be on-site to help neighbors learn about and apply for its Low Income Energy Assistance Program. Eligible households may receive discounts of up to $40 per month on their energy bills. The application is quick and easy, with no documentation required upfront — and you can apply right at the event!

Whether you’re looking for warm clothing, support with energy costs, or information about local services, we hope you’ll stop by. There’s no shame in needing a little extra support, and you don’t have to navigate the season alone.

When: Friday, October 23
Where: 144 W Alder st at the Sequim Food Bank

What if something you no longer need could be exactly what a neighbor needs this winter?

Before you donate, take a moment to look at those coats, boots, gloves, and socks through someone else’s eyes. Is it clean? Is it in good condition? Would you be happy to receive it? When the answer is yes, you’re not just clearing out a closet—you’re giving something useful a second life and helping make sure someone in our community can stay warm.

Ready to pass along a little warmth? Bring your clean, gently used winter items to our Get Ready for Winter Day by October 18.

$6.00 can help put ground beef on a family’s table for a week. And sometimes, it means so much more than dinner...

This week, a neighbor who hadn’t visited us in a while came back to the food bank. She shared how amazing our community is and how much it means to know we’re always here when she needs us.

That’s what we want every neighbor to know: no matter how long it’s been, there’s a place for you here. Behind every dollar donated are more meals, more support, and the reassurance that no one has to navigate hard times alone.

Here’s what your generosity can do:
🍔 $6.00 helps provide a family of four with ground beef for a week.
🍔 $24.00 helps provide that same family with ground beef for four weeks.
🥚 $5.50 provides a family of four with eggs for four weeks.

Small gifts add up to more meals, fuller shelves, and a community people can count on.

That’s Everyone at the Table. Help us keep showing up for our neighbors. Every gift, big or small, makes a difference.

More neighbors need us than ever.

SNAP cuts. Rising costs. Families facing hunger for the first time. And the funding food banks rely on? It’s getting harder to secure.

The need is growing, and our work is far from over. Thanks to this community, Everyone at the Table doesn’t end when our annual event does. We’re carrying that momentum forward to make sure our neighbors have access to the food they need, today and in the months ahead.

There’s still a place for everyone at the table. And together, we can keep making sure that place is there.

What’s sitting in the back of your closet might be exactly what someone in our community needs this winter!

As you switch from summer to fall clothes, take a few minutes to pull out the things you no longer wear. Check coats, gloves, boots, and socks to make sure they’re clean and in good condition, then set them aside to donate. It’s a simple way to keep useful items out of the landfill — and help a neighbor feel a little warmer this winter.

Have a few things to share? Bring your donations to the Sequim Food Bank by October 18, Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. at 144 W. Alder St. Together, we can help make sure everyone in our community is ready for winter.

Have you heard about our Mobile Pantry?

For some of our neighbors, getting to the Food Bank during regular distribution hours isn’t easy. Our Mobile Pantry brings fresh, nutritious food directly into local communities, making it a little easier to get the food families need.

And behind the scenes, Emily, our Mobile Pantry Coordinator, helps make it all happen. From loading fresh produce to visiting each stop, she works to make every Mobile Pantry visit welcoming and well stocked.

Mobile Pantry stops happen throughout the week:
Tuesday: OUUF | 1–2 PM
Wednesday: Seabreeze Apts. | 10–11 AM & Jamestown | 1–2 PM
Thursday: Elk Creek Apts. | 10–11 AM & Vintage | 1–2 PM *residents only
Friday: Suncrest Village | 1–2 PM

Know someone who could benefit from the Mobile Pantry? Share this post with them! And keep an eye out for more behind-the-scenes looks at the people who help make our programs possible.
