The Sequim Irrigation Festival celebrates the initiation, development and support of the irrigation ditches which brought water to the once dry prairies of Sequim. Each year in May, we celebrate with a variety of events including a logging show, car show, kids' parade, grand parade, strongman competition, art show, arts & crafts show and more!

Congratulations to festival volunteer, Dylan Simpler, on being presented with the Otter Service Award by the staff of Olympic Peninsula Academy. This award is given to a student that is always helping wherever needed and with a smile on their face, and that describes Dylan perfectly!

Dylan is an incoming senior who attends both Olympic Peninsula Academy and Sequim High School.

For the Festival you might catch him behind the camera filling in when Keith can’t be there, helping set up and take down the float when his Dad is volunteer driving, helping at Crazy Callen Weekend as a parking attendant, and at other events.

Congratulations Dylan, we are so proud of you!

We had a wonderful time at the FIFA World Cup Kickoff Parade hosted by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians! We saw a lot of friends, Rhododendron Festival Association, Seattle Seafair Pirates, The Daffodil Festival, and some new ones we made along the parade route! Float builder, Guy Horton, encouraged several of these new friends to try doing the “Kraken”!

This was an evening parade so we got to see kraken’s eyes light up!

Congratulations to 2025 Queen Lily Tjemsland and festival volunteer Jera Bessey on receiving their varsity letter in community service!

Both contributed greatly to the Festival. Lily in her role as a royalty ambassador and Jera in her role as part of the marketing team and volunteering at several events.
