We appreciate recent inquiries regarding when our next derby will be held. There will be no Olympic Peninsula Salmon Derby in 2022 due to no winter blackmouth season for our derby territories in marine areas 6, 7 or 9. We are waiting for decisions on next year's winter season before making any further announcements. Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers and anglers!

Disappointing news about the closing of the 2021 winter Blackmouth season in Marine Areas 6, 7, and 9. Our Derby board is currently considering options for next year's 2021 Olympic Peninsula Salmon Derby. The 2020 Derby Volunteer Appreciation dinner originally scheduled for April 25 will be rescheduled soon so we can appropriately recognize those who helped make this year's derby so successful.

OLYMPIA — Because of low returns and damaged habitats, winter chinook fishing in much of the north Puget Sound and eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca would be shut down next year under proposed salmon fishing seasons tentatively approved Friday.
