🍁 Golden Years, Bright Styles! ✨

On October 7, CISC Sunshine Garden proudly hosted the Golden Years, Bright Style Fashion Show at Union Station, welcoming over 80 guests for a wonderful celebration of culture, fashion, and community! 🎉

Our seniors celebrated the beauty of cultural diversity through a wonderful collection of styles, including traditional Chinese ethnic clothing, qipaos, ancient imperial court attire, and modern fashion. In addition to the fashion show, our seniors also delighted the audience with several lively dance performances. It was a joyful celebration filled with laughter, applause, and cultural connection.

Our team members are working hard to reassure our clients who just lost healthcare and long-term care support due to the impact of federal law, HR 1. We have successfully connected many clients to emergency state-funded programs to help maintain their well-being and access to affordable healthcare.

When the government cuts Medicaid, it’s not just cutting health insurance — it’s also cutting critical support services for those with little to no income.

CISC's Employment Team welcomed 23 job seekers for an engaging U.S. Workplace Culture, Communication, and De-escalation Workshop!

From understanding workplace expectations and communication styles to exploring cultural inclusion, at-will employment, and strategies for navigating challenging situations professionally, participants gained practical tools to feel more confident and prepared in the workplace. 🤝
One of the highlights was hearing participants share their own workplace experiences, exchange perspectives, and learn from one another. 💬🌎
At CISC, employment support goes beyond finding a job. Our Employment Team helps community members better understand U.S. workplace culture, strengthen communication skills, build confidence, and prepare for long-term career success.

🏮Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival & Strengthening Community Connections at Sunshine Garden! On September 25, Sunshine Garden welcomed 29 seniors for a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival celebration filled with games, creativity, food, and fellowship. Seniors enjoyed traditional activities, including riddle games, ring toss, and a memory game, with gifts available after they completed the games. Everyone also had the opportunity to get creative with lacquer fan-making and design their own unique fan to take home.

We were also pleased to welcome Ms. Mary Pearson from the City of Seattle Aging and Disability Services Division, and Ms. Jenna Franklin from the King County Adult Services Division for their site visit at CISC Seattle office. Their visit provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, share updates and future plans, and explore opportunities for continued collaboration. We are grateful for their ongoing partnership and support of CISC’s programs and services, which help us continue serving individuals and families across our communities. It was a meaningful day of celebration, connection, and looking ahead to how we can continue working together to serve our community.
