We’re so grateful for the opportunity to partner with and Seattle artist Damon Brown aka to bring a new mural to life in celebration of the upcoming soccer tournament! ⚽️

The artwork captures the energy and excitement surrounding this global event while showcasing Damon's distinctive graphic style and talent for bringing figures—especially sports-inspired imagery—to life. As part of the process, the Swire team also joined us for a spring team-building event, rolling up their sleeves to help paint the mural and contribute to this vibrant community project.

You can find the mural at Stadium Market on 7th & Denny, a proud partner of Swire and home to this exciting new addition to the neighborhood.

Thank you to the amazing volunteers from Amazon who joined Urban ArtWorks this month as part of and Amazon’s Global Month of Volunteering. 🎨💙

Special thanks to Amazon Volunteers who helped us create art during their Global Month of Volunteering. During this time, two school murals were painted for two schools over the course of two weeks. Over 50 volunteers came out over the course of this time to help paint and work alongside youth to create a piece of art that expressed community and pride in their shared spaces.
Community projects like these are only possible through partnership, collaboration, and people who are willing to dedicate their time and energy to supporting youth and the arts.

Thank you again to Amazon for volunteering with us, not just during Global Month of Volunteering, but throughout the year. We appreciate your continued partnership and support of creative, community-centered work across Seattle.

This past month Urban ArtWorks welcomed students from Ballard High School into the studio for a day of learning, conversation, and hands-on artmaking. 🎨

Led by teaching artist John Anderson (), students in Ballard’s High School’s art class spent the day exploring the role public art plays in shaping communities, storytelling, and creating dialogue in shared spaces.

Throughout the field trip, students participated in an artist talk, toured murals around the CID, and worked collaboratively in the studio alongside Urban ArtWorks staff and artists. The day created space for students to ask questions, experiment artistically, and connect classroom learning to real-world public art practices happening across Seattle.

We loved hosting this thoughtful and engaged group of young artists, thank you to art teacher Katie Griffin and Ballard High School for spending the day with us! 💙

✨ Another Mural Installed ✨

The Bishop Blanchet High School mural is officially up, turning a retaining wall near campus into a mural and students helped design it. 🌿🎨

Over the past few months, students from the National Art Honor Society worked alongside Teaching Artist Natalia and Youth Program Specialist Yas to develop and paint this collaborative mural from concept to completion. What started as a series of brainstorming workshops grew into a beautiful public artwork created by students, for the community.

Thank you to the students of , Yaz and Natalia, the neighboring property owner, and everyone who helped bring this mural to life. We’re so excited to see this artwork become part of the neighborhood 💚✨

✨ Installed and complete! ✨

This mural at University Child Development School came to life through the creativity and imagination of the 1st graders, who spent the year exploring how public art shapes and cares for community spaces. This week, artist Charles Conner returned to see the finished mural fully installed. 🎨

Thank you to Charles Conner for listening to students’ ideas and making them into such a joyful and meaningful piece, and thank you to everyone at UCDS for partnering with Urban ArtWorks throughout this incredible project. We’re so grateful to all of the teaching artists, educators, students, and staff who helped bring this mural to life. 💛
