The 2026 Everest season closed with records and triumphs - and with profound loss that our community knows too well.

Hillary Dawa Sherpa has been missing around the Yellow Band on Everest since May 29. He was there doing his job - one of the most demanding and respected professions - guiding his client on the highest mountain in the world. The mountain is empty now. Dawa is still missing.

This season also took Lakpa Dende Sherpa, Bijaya Ghimire Bishwakarma, and Phura Gyaljen Sherpa, three high-altitude workers who were proud of their work in the Himalaya.

They are deeply missed. We are holding their families in our hearts. This is exactly why The Juniper Fund exists, and we will walk alongside them in the year ahead.

Fura Diki Sherpa is heading to Lhotse this spring with an extraordinary goal: summit the world's fourth-highest peak (8,516m) and return to base camp - all within 24 hours. Her message to the world is simple: it is never too late to fulfill your dreams.
