This September, Amma shared a simple wish for her birthday: that it be remembered not for celebration, but for service. Every satsang was invited to become a petal in a giant garland of seva.
On Saturday, September 26, MA Center PNW answered that call. Fifteen volunteers spent the morning at Food Lifeline’s Seattle facility, sorting and repacking 2,000 pounds of rice into bags destined for food banks and meal programs across Western Washington. The morning flew by in a spirit of camaraderie and laughter, and all left with a feeling of wanting to do more.
And the seva continued... ✨️
The following day, September 27, more members gathered to assemble care bags for the Seattle Union Gospel Mission Women and Children’s Shelter. Following UGM’s guidelines, each colorful bag was filled with essentials including toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, razors, socks, and feminine hygiene products. For a final, personal touch, volunteers created handmade cards, filling each bag not only with necessities, but with love.
