CQI will be 4 years old on August 10-11, 2013. How nmany of you remember that year? It's been that long time ago for me that I cannot remember how I was a couple of years before WWII. This is the disadvantage, or , maybe, the advantage of growing way back in time when a picture that say a thousand word , also cost a lot of money, that I did not have one. Wouldn't it be fun if the members of the CQI post their picture when they were about four years old (3 1/2 - 5),and caption it with when, where, what the occasion was about. I can bet that it will be a birthday, but, we never know. So, start looking for your pictures and post it in the album entitled "CQIs at 4".

The CQI support for the SPBPC Patio Renovation Project, unfortunately, cannot move forward, because the main purpose, that is, people use only and no vehicular parking, cannot be met. I thank you for thinking about it and, especially, to those who made a pledge. A million thanks to those who agreed to help the project as a member of the SEEKERS that we had to break-up. For this matter, the CQI has resolved by Resolution 0017 to rescind its support to the project.

Thank you all very much for your thoughts and prayers on Linda's getting over the septic shock and continued recovery. She is improving everyday and is recovering nicely. So, I am back to serve the CANDELARIA QUEZON INTERNATIONAL, INC. (CQI), to further its purpose and goals. What are we doing right now for Candelaria?

We are gearing up for the third AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE ceremony that will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, in partnership with the Candelaria Quezon Philanthropic Society, Inc. (CQPSI). We will be recognizing the excellent performance of the valedictorians and salutatorians of the 8 high and 36 elementary schools totaling 88 awardees. Each high school recipient will receive a glass plaque with the name of the donor and a cash reward of Php2000 and for the elementary, a glass plaque and Php1000 in cash. Our donors list is still needing some eleven (11)sponsors. The donation for high school is $150 and for the elementary is $100. It will cover the awards for a valedictorian and a salutatorian of a school. Fulfillment shall be received by February 15, 2013.

The next project we are working on is the Candelarians Educational Initiative Program (CEIP). It has been going on since 2010. Our goal will be reached with the class of 2013 who will be graduating in 2014. At this point, we have 20 students, who are now juniors, in different high school and will be seniors the next school term. How do we finance this project? We are having a fundraising raffle that will be drawn on during the CQI Second Biennial Convention in Las Vegas on August 10 -11, 2013.
The limited raffle (2400 tickets only at $5 apiece) has 10 fabulous prizes. You can participate in this endeavor by buying those tickets from the CQI officers and board of directors. Dear CQIs, families, and friends- I haven't posted anything in most of the month of November and early December because my wife Linda was hospitalized with a septic shock. Her organs were infected by bacteria, e.coli, and virus that took a couple of endoscopic procedures to remove stones in her bile duct and the suspected bacteria and viruses in her system. The doctors and nurses who performed the procedures and took care of her at the ICU and at the special care units saved her from the life threatening ordeal. Alongside the medical staff is my daughter Marie, who is an energy healing practitioner who happened to be in town, and worked on her mom's physical strength and energy level to cope with the horrific disease. Her practice that included the capability to neutralize the harmful effects of the medications and procedures was instrumental in Linda's survival. Your love and prayers bouyed her spirit to overcome and heal the effects of horrifying experience.

Today, she's doing very well, in her recuperation at the Ida Culver House health Care Center. The occupational, speech, and physical therapists has been reporting her remarkable improvements daily. She may be home in time for Christmas.

Thank you all for your wonderful wishes, thoughts, and prayers for her early recovery.

11/09/2012

The CQI board of directors and officers will hold its 4th regular teleconference for the year 2012.
