Kindness Cafe Executive Chef Nissa and her kiddo recently picked about 15 pounds of blueberries with other Meals Partnership Coalition members. MPC organized this event through Skagit Gleaners at Bow Farmhouse in Bow, WA.

“These berries will be made into jam for our PB & J sandwiches. We always try to offer PB & Js as an additional option for our clients. This is particularly appreciated by clients with dental issues and some with dietary restrictions.”

We love our partnerships and how we're all able to do more when we work in community together!

One of the top questions we get from food bank shoppers, donors, and community members alike is where we get the food for our free Community Market, Kindness Café, and food access programs.

With a few days left in the month, we want to remind folks of our Items of the Month!

- Canned Fruit
- Soup
- Canned meat
- Drink mix packets (anything from electrolyte drinks, coffee, cocoa, etc.)
- Spices/Condiments (standard household kitchen size amounts)

These items offer variety on our shelves and after surveying neighbors, we know they’re some of the most sought after items. If you’re planning to grocery shop soon, please consider throwing an item or two in your cart on behalf of the neighbors who rely on Ballard Food Bank for their weekly groceries. Thank you!
