Institute for Natural Medicine

Institute for Natural Medicine Advancing whole-person health, enriched by the medicine of nature, through public education, practitioner access, and collaborative partnerships.

The INM was established in 1993 as a philanthropic foundation serving the profession of naturopathic medicine. When the INM was founded, naturopathic physicians were licensed in only seven states. Now, twenty states and territories license naturopathic doctors. Since its founding, the INM has served the profession in many ways. Among other things, it was instrumental in launching the Association o

f Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges as an independent organization; it has supported important public education efforts; it played a key role in obtaining licensure for naturopathic physicians in California; and through the Dr. John Bastyr Sunshine Fund Clinical Investigator Research Fellowships, the INM has funded graduating naturopathic medical student in studies that advance the profession. Recently, the INM and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians have joined forces to strengthen the INM even further so that it can support a wide variety of activities in the areas of access to naturopathic care, public education, and research.

The role of supplements goes far beyond filling nutrient gaps. But how do we know which ones help move the needle forward in disease prevention and health promotion? Dr. Alschuler, president and CEO of Sonoran University of Health Sciences, dives deep into these questions and more in a complimentary CE/CME lecture, part of a 24 CE/CME Whole Person Health Course launching August 22.

Most patients aren't eating enough fruits and vegetables to see real health benefits. That gap is where supplement education comes into play, and where providers need evidence they can trust.

In this complimentary 1.0 CME/CE introductory lecture, Dr. Lise Alschuler shares what the research shows about vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and adaptogens, along with safety considerations and clinical applications.

Made for conventional doctors, and particularly relevant for NPs and PAs, the lecture helps practitioners field these questions in practice!
