Kin On We honor and support our elders and families by offering culturally Asian healthcare services. True to giving back. True to paying it forward. Their money.

Kin On was born out of a deep need and the generous support the Asian community. We were one of the first Asian language nursing homes in America and have become the inspiration for many since our inception in 1985. More than 30 years later, we continue to expand our offerings in both depth of care and the types of options we provide. Meanwhile, we are preparing for one the greatest influxes of ne

w elders our country has ever seen. Perhaps you or someone you know will be among them? No one knows what the future holds, but our present is quite clear: Those who give; Their time. Their talents make Kin On possible. and will ensure our work for decades to come. As a community supported 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, Kin On relies heavily on our communityโ€™s generosity. No matter how big or small, your contributions are vital in enabling Asian elders and disabled adults in the greater Seattle area to receive health and social services tailored to their language, culture and heritage. One way to give back to the community is to become a volunteer at Kin On! Whether itโ€™s a few hours a day, a couple of days a month or at an annual special event, Kin On appreciates you sharing your time and talents with us. Make a difference by becoming a Kin On volunteer today! INTERESTED? ๐Ÿฎ What does "home" really mean in Asian cultures?

In many Asian languages, home and family are the same word. Home has always meant multiple generations together, elders honored, and care that never stops โ€” even after you've moved out.

At Kin On, we carry these values forward. Our Supportive Housing offers affordable, culturally sensitive care where Asian elders can live with dignity and belonging โ€” like a family.

๐ŸŒฟ This AANHPI Heritage Month, our incredible volunteers showed up and showed out โ€” pulling weeds, clearing the parking lot, and brightening the window views for our Supportive Housing residents. Their care and hard work mean more than words can say!

Want to be part of it? We have two more cleanup sessions this June!

Supporting Asian American Breast Cancer Survivors ๐ŸŽ€

Asian American breast cancer survivors often experience higher symptom distress and lower quality of life due to language barriers, cultural stigma, and limited access to culturally tailored support.

Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing are currently seeking more Chinese, Korean, and Japanese American breast cancer survivors to participate in the CAI Study โ€” a completely free online cancer pain management program created specifically for Asian American women.

Participants may receive:
โœจ Bilingual nurse coaching (Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, or English)
โœจ Culturally tailored health resources
โœจ A complimentary Fitbit for wellness tracking
โœจ Up to $150 compensation for participation

If you or someone you know may benefit from this opportunity, please consider sharing this post to help spread the word. ๐Ÿ’•

๐Ÿ€„ Few things bring people together quite like a mahjong table โ€” tiles clacking, friends laughing, and everyone deep in the rhythm of the game.

At Kin On, mahjong is more than a game โ€” it's a beloved pastime that brings our residents, Healthy Living members, and activity volunteers together across generations and cultures.

Three times a year, we also open our tables to the community for Mahjong Nights โ€” a chance to play, connect, and share a piece of Asian heritage that has traveled from 1800s China to living rooms around the world. โœจ

๐Ÿ’š A heartfelt thank-you to Jade Guild!

Every new year, every birthday, every milestone โ€” the incredible women of Jade Guild make sure no occasion goes unacknowledged. If you've ever received a card from us, know that it was handcrafted with care by Jade Guild members at their monthly Crafts & Chat gathering here at the Seattle Community Center.

They are the quiet backbone behind every "thank you" we send โ€” and we couldn't be more grateful. ๐Ÿ™

What a week! We turned National Skilled Nursing Care Week into a "Moments in Bloom" carnival โ€” and the joy was contagious! ๐Ÿ’

Our spirit week was packed with fun:
๐ŸŽฉ Daily themed days (Hat Day was a hit!)
๐Ÿจ Ice cream floats for our amazing staff
๐Ÿ‘ถ "Guess Who This Person Bloomed Into" โ€” childhood photo edition
๐ŸŽฏ People Bingo to connect in new ways
๐ŸŽค A karaoke showcase by our staff teams for residents

The most touching moment? Staff from every team singing in different languages, bringing residents back to the good old days. Staff, families, and residents sang together โ€” sharing memories, laughter, and a few happy tears. ๐Ÿฅฐ

This is Kin On. Not just high-quality care โ€” but shared culture, boundless energy, and a family bound by heart. ๐Ÿ’•

Here's to many more moments in bloom! ๐ŸŒทโœจ

๐ŸŒฟ Slow breath. Flowing arms. A moment of stillness in motion. Tai chi is an ancient Chinese practice that has brought generations together in parks, courtyards, and community centers across Asia and beyond.

Every Thursday, our Eastside community gathers for something special โ€” tai chi during Tea Time at our Eastside Community Center. It's a moment to move, breathe, and connect, followed by a warm cup of tea and lively conversation on a new topic each week. ๐Ÿต
