Amrita-Seattle Every week, Amrita-Seattle provides: healthy hot meals, Grab n' Go Nutritious Meal Bags, and critical winter survival gear (Fall & Winter).

Amrita-Seattle’s mission Live to Serve provides essential services to at-risk unsheltered youth, children, and communities, both locally in King County, and globally in rural India and Nepal. Locally, for the past 12 years, Amrita-Seattle has been serving at-risk un-sheltered youth, young adults, and marginalized communities, at Teen Feed, King County's Share/Wheel Tent Cities , ROOTS Shelter, Tiny Cabins Safe Harbor, & Sophia Way. We not only prep, cook, serve, and clean-up, but also advocate for homeless youths through a safe and welcoming presence. What we do goes beyond a meal, since it is over a healthy meal, young people connect with specially trained advocates and support coordination staff to access the resources and services they need. Globally, Amrita-Seattle serves in rural isolated parts of India and Nepal, to build pathways out of generational poverty for utmost vulnerable children, youth, and communities. From sending a child to school, to providing children with access to tutorials, classroom supplies, building libraries, computer centers, and playgrounds, to medical camps, and regular home visits, Amrita-Seattle provides children with everything they need, every step of the way to not just survive, but thrive!

Every log is a warm night. 🪵❄️

Winter comes early in Ladakh, and it stays for months. So before the first snow, the children and caregivers of Amrita Seattle Residential Home come together to carry, stack and store the firewood that will keep the home warm until spring.

Many hands, light loads and plenty of laughter. Everyone has a part to play.

That woodpile means hot meals, warm rooms and cosy evenings of study through the coldest months of the year.

You'll spend three hours painting a mask no one else in the world will have, in time for Halloween. No experience needed. A working artist guides every step. Chai, snacks and every material are included, and your mask goes home with you.

Every seat you reserve sends art supplies to 10 children in Amrita-Seattle's art therapy program. For a child who has lived through more than most adults, a paintbrush is often the first safe way to say it.

A young man came back for seconds tonight and said, "I didn't eat yesterday."

That's who we cook for. On Saturday, Amrita-Seattle's kitchen crew served 100+ hot dinners to unsheltered youth and young adults at Teen Feed and ROOTS Young Adult Shelter — pasta, hand-crafted meatballs, grilled veggies, salad, dessert, ice cream. The works.

It's the 27th month in a row. 8,676 plates since January 2025. The same volunteers, the same Saturday, every month — and the young people who come have learned to count on it. That reliability is the point. Dinner is how it starts.

To tonight's crew: 100 people ate well because you showed up. Thank you. 🙏
