Hunger Intervention Program

10/14/2026

Everyone, please extend a long-overdue welcome our new Volunteer Coordinator, Karlijn! Karlijn (she/her) is originally from the Netherlands, and has moved around many places throughout her life before settling in Seattle this summer. She holds an LLM in Human Rights with a focus on the right to food, and brought that background to NSFC's youth activities this summer. Starting this fall, she is our new AmeriCorps VISTA member. Outside of work, she loves hiking, surfing, and whatever craft project has caught her attention lately.

Ah, the colorful pear, as seen in our kitchens today. It's a reminder that, though much has changed in the last few months, at our core, we remain focused on the important things - ensuring nobody in our neighborhood goes hungry.

We want to extend a special thanks to our friends at Toast who helped out at the Summer Meals sites, both in delivering the meals and painting the kids' faces into cute animals!
