The Council agreed to change three things for now: Make garbage its own separate fund; implement the new penalty fee structure in the original legislation; and allow residents to put out two bulk items once per month. The date will be the same as a resident’s white-items pickup day.

The Schenectady City Council receives overwhelming negative feedback on proposed changes to the garbage collection system, leading to a reevaluation of the plans and adjustments to address residents' concerns.

Afterwards, Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company, one of the Capital Region's most acclaimed contemporary dance ensembles, takes the stage celebrating 35 years of inspiring audiences through movement, artistry, and imagination!

Schenectady County is making it easier for residents to safely dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste at a free collection event on Saturday, June 6 at SUNY Schenectady County Community College.

Appointments are still available, but space is limited and registration is required.
