ANNUAL WINTER HIKE & CHILI POTLUCK
Sunday, February 1, 1:30pm - 5:30pm

In case you haven't registered for our Annual Winter Hike & Chili Potluck, now is the time: https://bogfriends.org/event-registration/

Winter presents the opportunity to explore the interior of the Cedarburg Bog. FOCB directors will lead the annual hike into the heart of the Bog. This is a 4-mile hike, on uneven terrain, not on a formal trail. Hike conditions this year should be nearly ideal.

The hike will be followed by a Chili Dinner Potluck at 4:30pm. The Friends will have lots of chili ready as well as beverages. Bring a dish to share (side dish, salad, dessert) all are appreciated and enjoyed! It’s a wonderful way to finish up the hike but please join us for the potluck even if you don’t plan to hike. If you do not plan to stay for the Chili Dinner, please let us know so we can plan accordingly.

CONDITIONS UPDATE:
+We will have good, solid, safe ice for our hike to Long and Donut Lakes on February 1.
+There is a light snow cover which should provide good footing.
+Please bring your ice cleats along with you in case conditions change and there is slick ice.
+Dress for the weather and stay on the main trail. Safety glasses or sunglasses are always recommended for walking in the Bog.
+We are in for a beautiful and memorable hike in our amazing wetland as long as we are dressed for the conditions!

Check the UWM Field Station website for updates on conditions later in the week: https://uwm.edu/field-station/about/news/

We hope to see you there!

The Friends of the Cedarburg Bog support stewardship and appreciation of the biologically diverse Bog through land management, preservation, research and education.
