OPEN HOUSE THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!

Saturday March 21st
11 am > 3 pm

Kettle Moraine Ballast Scorchers
The current layout is in a 22' x 23' space. The layouts are one on top of the other as both HO and N Scale are modeled. The HO layout is on the lower deck with the N Scale layout in the second deck as many in the membership model only one or the other scales with a few having both scales. The time frame is set for the 1980s up to current time for those that model the newer railroads. So, at times one might see modern CN locomotives running alongside a Milwaukee Road steam locomotive. The layouts are set in the region of
Wisconsin along the Chicago Northwestern Airline Subdivision due to many members living along this division.

Saturday May 2nd, at 1 PM
Monthly Meeting & Yearly Membership Meeting
New Berlin Public Library

Features two new clinics to be given by Mark Willmering. (Mark's article on scratchbuilding a rail-to-truck transfer building just appeared in the Spring 2026 issue of the Midwest Region's online Waybill.) One of his May clinics will focus on how to build and use removable loads of coal and similar commodities in open hopper cars. The other will provide information and details about the car floats that Mark has added to his Rock Harbor layout as an unusual and vital source of rail traffic (and scenic interest). The Rock Harbor is modeled as a railroad on an island, so on Mark's layout, these car floats are his railroad's interchange connection with the rest of the railroad system.
