In honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, our organization was lucky to catch up with 2 of the 6 of our amazing Telecommunicator Officers yesterday!

A very special shout out to Anna, who crocheted hand-made coffee cup koozies and supplied several other gifts, Brian of Wofford's Woodworking who contributed a koozie full of goodies, Cathy R. for supplying Cowboy Coffee Gift Certificates, Roney for gifting Sonic Gift Certificates, Kathy M. who generously donated the snacks for the card, Kat for stickers, notebooks and pen! Our organization really comes together and chips in for the better good! Well done, everyone, well done!

In recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (April 19–25), Crime Stoppers of Houston will present a community program about domestic violence awareness and prevention.

Crime Prevention Program : Domestic Violence
Tuesday, April 21
6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Holland Meeting Room
Refreshments sponsored by Texas City Police Department and the Ortiz family.

This presentation will explain what domestic violence is, including abuse between partners, former partners, and children. It will share current facts and talk about different types of abuse, such as physical, sexual, emotional, online, financial, and spiritual abuse. It will also clear up common myths and misunderstandings. The presentation will cover ways to prevent violence, how to stay safe, how to get a protective order, and where to find help and support in the community.

At last night’s City Council Meeting we presented the Santa Fe Police Department with our gift of “A Wrap”. Kathy Moody presented and we all were in the gallery. Our President, Cathy Rice was missed immensely. Fundraising continues, we’d like to be able to purchase one for each shift.
