Is your kid curious about rowing but nervous to try?
We hear it all the time β "What if they fall in? What if they're not athletic enough? What if they don't make friends?"
Here's the truth: almost every single SCAR rower started with those exact same fears. And almost every one of those fears disappeared after the very first practice.
Rowing is one of the most welcoming sports out there. No experience required. No "right" body type. No need to have played sports before. Just a willingness to show up and try something new.
At SCAR, beginners start in large, stable boats with experienced coaches by their side. Our varsity athletes cheer on new rowers β because they remember exactly what day one felt like. And the friendships? They happen faster than you'd expect.
One of the most common things we hear from new rowers is: "I wish I had joined sooner."
Not sure where to start? Check out our Learn2Row Summer Camp β the last session of the summer runs July 6thβ9th. It's the perfect introduction to the sport in a fun, low-pressure environment. π https://www.scarowing.org/summer-camps
Then come join us on the water for the full season this fall!
