Religion And Ridicule

But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official, and Geshem the Arab heard about this, they mocked us and ridiculed us, saying, “What is this you are doing? Are you rebelling against the king?” So I answered them and said, “The Yahuah of heaven is the One who will grant us success. We, His servants, will start rebuilding, but you have no portion, right, or claim in Jerusalem.” — Neh 2:19-20

So we rebuilt the wall until all of it was joined together up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work. — Neh 4:6

The rebuilding of Jerusalem’s walls, as recorded in Scripture, took place during troubled times. Local rulers, who had benefited from the city's lowly state, viewed the restoration efforts with disdain and plotted against the work. Their schemes required constant vigilance.

If you are working for Yahuah—clearing away sin’s debris, rebuilding broken lives, or seeking the welfare of Yahuah’s people—don’t be surprised if you face scorn and ridicule, like Nehemiah did from Sanballat and Tobiah. For many, mockery is harder to endure than outright opposition. If only these critical voices would fall silent, we could make better progress. Yet, this persecution drives us back to Yahuah, making His presence a living reality and revealing the strength of His saving hand (Nehemiah 4:4, 9, 20). In such moments, it is good to stop relying on man and remember the great and mighty Lord (Nehemiah 1:5; Isaiah 51:12-13). Ensure that you are following His plan, doing His work in His way. Move forward in His name, and He will turn obstacles into paths.

The Christian life has a threefold focus: first, we look upward into Yahuah's face—"I prayed to the Yahuah of heaven." We must never forget to pray, for prayer achieves more than we realize. Second, we look upward against our foes—"We prayed to our Yahuah and set a watch against them day and night." We must both watch and pray. Lastly, we look downward at the work entrusted to us, working diligently with unwavering devotion, in fellowship with our Lord (1 Corinthians 3:9). Let us ask ourselves: "Am I inside the city, among its builders, or outside, with its detractors?"

Prayer

O Yahuah, teach us daily what You would have us do, and give us the grace and power to accomplish it. May we never avoid the path You set before us out of ease or fear of shame. Amen.

What Is Religion?

“Do you still not understand?” Yahusha asked. — Matt 15:16 BSB

In this chapter, our Lord teaches that true religion is not a matter of outward ceremonies, like eating or drinking. It is about the soul’s intention—the continual drawing of life and strength from Christ for our service to others. It’s like a diver who explores the ocean floor but depends on the air from the surface to survive.

Yahusha didn’t dismiss the outward practices of religion. He set an example for us by attending synagogue and temple services, spending nights in prayer, and constantly referring to Scripture. But these outward practices were expressions of His unbroken fellowship with His Father. Love, too, is not just about outward displays but the deeper intention of the heart. Still, without outward expression, love’s wellspring may dry up.

Perhaps the two greatest definitions of pure religion are these: The first from the Old Testament, "Do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your Yahuah." And the second from the New Testament, "Pure and undefiled religion before Yahuah and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." To live out these principles, we need the aid of the Holy Spirit.

True religion is within everyone’s reach, but we must avail ourselves of what Christ has done to bring us to Yahuah. In Him, there is absolute forgiveness for the past and infinite grace for the future. He is willing to be our Surety, Friend, and Helper. Through Him, we can partake in the divine nature and escape the corruption of the world.

Prayer

Give me, gracious Lord, the spirit of a pilgrim, that I may be in the world but not of it. Grant me the grace to resist the fleshly desires that war against my soul.

The Keys Of The Kingdom

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. — Matt 16:19 BSB

Although these words were spoken specifically to the Apostle Peter, there is a profound way in which every true disciple of Christ can exercise the power of unlocking or locking the doors of Faith, Hope, and Love for another soul. Perhaps you know someone weighed down by a heavy burden, oppressed by fear, or struggling with a recurring sin. You may offer comfort, practical help, or simply words of encouragement, and by doing so, you unlock the dark cell they’ve been trapped in. Your compassionate support becomes the key that sets them free. Isn’t this a true use of the power of the keys to the Kingdom?

Or perhaps you meet someone falsely accused or suspected of wrongdoing. You listen carefully, work to bring out the truth, and help clear their name. Or you may encounter a young person entangled in trouble, uncertain how to escape. Through your wisdom and counsel, you unlock the prison door and offer them the freedom they need.

Look for these opportunities to serve others. A life that abides in constant fellowship with Christ has an extraordinary power to set others free from their chains. Above all, point them to the ultimate Deliverer, Christ our Lord.

Prayer

He breaks the power of canceled sin, He sets the prisoner free; His blood can make the foulest clean, His blood availed for me. Amen.

The Wise Use Of Influence

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. — Matt 5:14-16 BSB

Influence is the way our soul flows out to inspire, help, or even harm others. No one lives or dies to themselves alone. Just as every grain of sand on the shore impacts the position of the others, our character influences those around us more deeply than our words do. Likely, waves of spiritual influence continually go out from our innermost being, making it easier or harder for others to reach their highest potential.

The first circle of influence is our friends. Our words can be sweet or bitter, but whatever we say or do, we must be completely honest and faithful (Proverbs 27:6-9). True sincerity is being without the "wax" used to cover imperfections, as carpenters do to make flawed wood appear sound. It’s the pure and honest soul that has the most profound impact on others. Don’t be selfish in your friendships—give more than you expect to receive. Love is a delicate plant that requires care. We shouldn’t expect it to grow without light and truth.

The second circle is our wider community. The world may not value the traits Yahusha taught in the Beatitudes, and might still reproach and persecute us, but we must continue to bless others by living holy lives. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; when slandered, we respond with grace. We must be salt to those who oppose us and light to those who defame us. Consistent love and patient, prayerful influence ultimately win.

We are called to be salt, meaning our lives are meant to stop the spread of evil. We are also called to be light, meaning we should shine brightly for others. Inconsistency and fear can hide our light. Let’s cast aside these hindrances so that the light within us shines brightly in a dark world.
Prayer

Grant, we ask You, O God, that our conduct would reflect the Gospel of Christ. May Christ’s fragrance be in our influence, His light in our faces, and His love in our hearts. Amen.

The Wise Use Of Time

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. — Eph 5:15-16 BSB

Yahuah desires each life to fully develop. Of course, there are exceptions—some lives are condensed into a brief period, where lessons and discipline are quickly learned, and the soul is called to eternity. But generally, every life is meant to experience all the stages of life's journey. There are times to be born or die, to weep or laugh, to gain or lose, to experience peace or storm. These moments are set in Yahuah’s plan for you. Don’t try to rush ahead or control the timing—wait for the Lord’s perfect timing. In His plan, everything will work out for your good and His glory. Say to Him, “All my times are in Your hand.”

Life’s moments pass swiftly. Milton, in his famous sonnet about time, calls out to the slow-moving hours, symbolized by the swinging of a pendulum. Looking back, it can feel like each moment was fleeting, gone before we realized. The story is told of a cobbler who, while listening to the ticking of his clock, thought the pendulum swung left saying, "Forever," and to the right, "Where?" Forever—where? Unable to answer the question, he stopped the clock, but found that stopping the questioner didn’t resolve his dilemma. It wasn’t until he knelt in prayer and faced the question of eternity that he found peace.

We must be ready for each moment as it comes. Yahusha said, "My hour has not yet come," waiting patiently until He heard heaven’s call. When the time came, He drew the strength needed and stepped forward to meet it. Each season is in the Father’s hands—He opens doors no one can shut, and closes doors no one can open. But in His hands are also the strength, wisdom, and grace needed for each moment. As the time, so is the strength. No trial, temptation, or loss is without its specific provisions from Yahuah. Take what you need from His hand and face the moment prepared.
Prayer

Oh, that You would bless us indeed and enlarge our opportunities for service. Let Your hand be with us, and keep us from all that would grieve You. Amen.

𝐓𝐒𝐎𝐒𝐅 Morning Prayer:

Activate the Armor of God Friday

Ephesians 6:10-18
Lord Yahusha the Christ, in your holy name, I put on the full armor of Father El, this day, upon my spouse, each of my children, my parents, siblings, relatives, and all true believers who I may be forgetting, and lasting myself, covering each and every one of us and all that we are, have , and possess with your precious blood of protection.

I put on the helmet of salvation because you are our salvation, Lord Christ Yahusha. the breastplate of righteousness because you are our righteousness, Lord Yahusha the Christ. Lord the belt of truth and the shoes of the gospel of peace in which we stand, Lord Yehusha because you are our truth and peace.

In my left hand I pick up the shield of faith, with which to quench every fiery dart of the enemy, and place it in theirs, and decree by trusting faith that all of Satan's plans are bound, we're loosed, and he's defeated in our lives this day and every day to come.

In my right hand, I pick up the sword of the spirit which is your word Lord Yahusha the Christ and place it in theirs. For your Word says that no weapon formed against me/us shall prosper. I decree all these things accomplished in your name, Lord Yahusha the Christ. Amen

"Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be." — Deuteronomy 33:25 (KJV)

DAILY EXHORTATION

When it comes to spiritual warfare, having special spiritual shoes confers a clear advantage. In the spirit, there are agents of darkness that operate on the ground, some in the air and others in the waters.

The Bible says in Psalm 91:13 (NLT) "You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!" and in Luke 10:19 (KJV) "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." So, there are demonic terrestrial powers that operate in the form of lions, cobras, fierce lions, serpents and scorpions. Yahusha described them as the the "power of the enemy". When you receive power to tread upon these powers, what you are actually getting are shoes of iron and brass.

Finally, today's scripture also says, the older you become, the stronger you shall be. Would you like to claim these blessings?

TODAY'S PRAYERS

1. O Lord Yahuah Almighty, today, give me power over my enemies, in the name of Yahusha.
2. Lord Yahuah of heaven, let Your mighty power convert my spiritual shoes into iron and brass, in the name of Yahusha.
3. This morning, with my shoes of iron and brass, I trample upon lions and cobras and I crush fierce lions and serpents unto destruction, in the name of Yahusha.
4. This morning, with my shoes of iron and brass, I tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, in the name of Yahusha.
5. I decree and declare that nothing shall by any means hurt me, in the name of Yahusha.
6. Mighty Yahuah, I declare that according to Your word, as my days, so shall my strength be, in the name of Yahusha.
7. Thank You heavenly Father, in Yahusha' mighty name, amen.

Blessing: Any power of the enemy that comes against you today shall be crushed unto destruction, in the name of Yahusha.

Blessing

As you go out today, may the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. He will give you peace and no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment Yahuah will condemn. Whatsoever you lay your hands on today shall prosper. I decree upon your life that you shall eat the good of your city, state, country and this world and you shall not suffer any loss. I pray that Yahuah will set you high above all nations of the earth. He will open the floodgates of heaven and pour out such blessing upon your life that there will not be room enough to store it. He will give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. I decree unto your life today that you will be like a tree planted by the riverside. Your leaves will always be green. Even in the time of drought you will never cease to bear fruit. I pray that God’s blessing will be on your food and water and that He will take away sickness from you and your family. He will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Yahusha. According to the word of the Lord, blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand. The Lord will grant you plenty of goods and make you wealthy. He will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand again and again. You shall lend to people but you shall never borrow from anyone. The Lord will make you the head and not the tail. You shall be above only, and not be beneath even as you obey the commandments of the Lord your Yahuah, in Yahusha Christ name, Amen.

Morning Devotion
"The hand of the Lord was on me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, 'Son of man, can these bones live?' I said, 'Sovereign Lord, you alone know.' Then He said to me, 'Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.''" — Ezekiel 37:1-14 (NIV)

DAILY EXHORTATION

Ezekiel did as the Almighty instructed. While he was yet prophesying, things began to happen. He heard a noise, a rattling sound, and then the bones began to come together, bone to bone. Also tendons and flesh appeared on the bones and finally skin covered them. However, the "renewed men" did not come alive as there was no breath in them. Then God instructed him as follows “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” (Ezekiel 37:9).

Immediately he did this, the breath entered into them and the men came alive, a great army. There is a spiritual entity called "Breath" and it comes from the four winds bringing life! Remarkable! Now, human beings also have dry bone situations.

Basically, anytime something essential to your life is no longer working as it used to, you are in a dry bone situation. It could be a marriage, your health, job, business, etc. Whatever it is, get yourself ready to address those dry bones so they can receive life.

TODAY'S PRAYERS

1. My Father in heaven, as with Ezekiel, I stand before You this morning and I ask for your divine intervention in my prayers concerning the dry bones in my life. Hear me O Lord and answer my prayers, in the name of Yahusha.

2. You dry bones of _________ (your current issue), by the power of the Holy Ghost, receive the attachment of divine tendons now, in the name of Yahusha.
[Repeat this prayer for every dry bone situation you have]

3. You dry bones of _________ (your current issue), by the power of the Holy Ghost, receive flesh now, in the name of Yahusha.
[Repeat this prayer for every dry bone situation you have]

4. You dry bones of _________ (your current issue), by the power of the Holy Ghost, be covered with skin now, in the name of Yahusha. [Repeat this prayer for every dry bone situation you have]

5. Now, O breath, come now from the four winds and breathe into __________ (your current issue) that it might come alive, in the name of Yahusha.
[Repeat this prayer for every dry bone situation you have]

6. You __________ (your current issue), by the Power of the Holy Ghost, I command you: COME ALIVE NOW! in the name of Yahusha. [Repeat this prayer for every dry bone situation you have]

7. Thank You Almighty Father for making my dry bones come alive, in Yahusha' mighty name, Amen.

Blessing: May all your dead bones come alive to the glory of God, in the name of Yahusha.

Set Apart

Ye shall be named the priests of the Lord. - Isa 61:6

This literal promise to Israel applies spiritually to all believers, the spiritual descendants of Israel. If we live up to our privileges, we will live for God so clearly and distinctly that others will recognize us as set apart for holy service and call us “priests of the Lord.” We may work or trade like others, but we can still be entirely devoted to ministering to Yahuah Our primary occupation will be offering the continual sacrifice of prayer, praise, testimony, and self-consecration to the living Yahuah through Yahusha Christ.

When this is our primary focus, we can leave distracting concerns to those who have no higher calling. “Let the dead bury their dead.” It is written, “Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and foreigners shall be your plowmen and your vine-dressers.” They may handle politics, solve financial problems, debate science, and settle the latest controversies; but we will dedicate ourselves to the service befitting those who, like the Lord Yahusha, are ordained to a perpetual priesthood.

Accepting this honorable promise as a sacred duty, let us put on the garments of holiness and serve before the Lord all day long.
