The Leadership Seminole 7th Annual Call to Service Event is happening now at The Rink at Northland Church.. There are 40 nonprofits here to recruit volunteers. It runs till 11 am today so stop by if you're in the area.

🛏️ A safe place to sleep. A comfortable place to rest.

Thanks to an incredibly generous anonymous donor, we were able to replace the mattresses throughout our shelter! 💙

It took an all-hands effort from our team to get the job done—moving, hauling, replacing, and getting everything ready for our guests.

This generous donation means our guests now have a cleaner, more comfortable place to rest at the end of the day. Because everyone deserves a good night’s sleep. 💙

From Oviedo to Sanford and beyond, we are so grateful for the Seminole County communities that believe in the work that we do. 💙

Meet Chris Ham, the guy who helps run the ONLY homeless shelter in Seminole County, Rescue Outreach Mission (ROM). The facility is located in Sanford and is always at capacity with a waiting list. This pic is from Gratitude in Action, an event where members of the community got to gather together and hear success stories of some of the people who once lived at ROM who now are working and living on their own. Sometimes, that medical bill is just one too many, or that unreliable car breaks down one time too many and your employer can't keep you on because you can't get to work on time. Sometimes, life happens. Let's be kind to each other the best we can here in Oviedo so we can maybe keep a few people from getting in to such a big bind Rescue Outreach Mission is the only option. And while I do hope we can put ROM out of business one day, in the meantime, I'm so glad there is a place for people to go when the going gets really rough.

Rescue Outreach Mission of Central Florida, Inc. - is a 115 bed housing-focused emergency shelter program serving men, women and families with children who are experiencing homelessness. It is the only program of its kind in Seminole County. In coordination with service providers across Central Florida, our goal is to increase financial resources, improve housing stability, and connect guests to mainstream benefits and community resources that will allow for long-term success via our housing first focus.

Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens - A 501(c)(3) nonprofit zoo focused on conservation and education. Our mission is to create connections that inspire people to take action for wildlife.

The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools - is a non-profit that connects our community to empower and impact every student and educator in Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS). Our mission is to inspire success and thriving for all students in SCPS through community partnership that leverages relationships and financial resources.

Meals on Wheels - We enrich the lives of seniors, and assist them in maintaining independence, by providing nutritious food, human connections and social support. We also use our expertise and capacity to serve other nutritionally at-risk populations.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida's - mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
