Caturday Spotlight: SERENITY
ABOUT:
Serenity is a calm, independent lady looking for a patient, cat- loving home. She has spent the last couple months in a foster home caring for her babies and now she's looking for a home of her own. She is approximately 2 years old, spayed, current on vaccines, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She is also litter trained.
HISTORY:
Serenity was surrendered to Pet Alliance back in March '26. Her kittens were a surprise but we suspect she had many litters before since she was such an excellent mom.
FROM HER FOSTER MOM:
Originally she had no trust for humans and was very scared. But gradually she realized that regular meals and a safe place to raise her kittens was pretty awesome. She is very comfortable living indoors with no desire to leave. We have slowly been earning her trust. She loves Temptations Treats and will take them from our hands. She greets us at the door at mealtime and is perfectly happy with human company, she just isn't used to being touched.
We have been going at a slow pace and have made great progress. We practice petting her when she is eating, where she doesn't see our hands coming at her. If a hand comes toward her face and she's not ready, she will remind us with a hiss and occasionally a swat.
We know that in time she will become acclimated in the right home and feel more comfortable with human contact. She has gone from being very scared to happy and relaxed, just independent. She has even started communicating with her sweet "meows".
We don't know how she will be with other cats and dogs but we do have them in our house. We know she can hear and smell them but she has been kept separated so that she feels safe to take care of her family. Her kittens are all grown up and moved to their forever homes. Now? It's her turn. Serenity just needs to find her perfect match. Could YOU be her perfect match?
