We are pleased to welcome Dr. Swaran Preet Singh (Swaran Singh) to our Sunday meeting. He will guide us in exploring the mind, brain, and self through insights from modern science and evidence, while connecting them with ancient wisdom.
Dr. Singh initially trained as a surgeon in New Delhi before moving into psychiatry after witnessing the impact of violent trauma on children and young people. He moved to the UK in 1991 and later conducted research at Nottingham University on first-episode psychosis and ethnic influences in mental health.
In 2001, he developed the first NHS-funded Early Intervention in Psychosis service in London, recognized for improving outcomes for young people experiencing first-episode psychosis. In 2006, he joined Warwick University as Professor of Social and Community Psychiatry, where he now serves as Director of the Centre for Mental Health & Wellbeing Research, alongside his role as an NHS Consultant Psychiatrist with the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust.
We invite you to join us for this 90-minute interactive session.
