There is a chance the tech can go tomorrow to Black Mtn. He has talked to the land owner about access. Apparently the roads have been plowed to make it easier. More updates as they come in.

You may have noticed that all the Portland commercial stations broadcast by Citizens TV (2,6,8,12,32 and 49) have been missing since the windstorm last week. This is due to the interruption of the microwave link through which we receive their signals. The problem is apparently located at the microwave relay on Black Mountain in Morrow County, Oregon.
Staff from the organization (“Rural Oregon Wireless Television”) that manages the microwave relay is aware of the problem and is working on fixing it. A technician will have to be sent to the microwave site on Black Mountain which is not easy to access in the winter.
When we have more information, we will let you know. Sorry for the interruption.

We need to replace the obsolete air conditioning in our transmitter building and create a digital link that will allow our technician to monitor and change settings from Milton-Freewater. This is particularly important in the winter when the transmitter site is often inaccessible.

Those who renew their membership are invited to attend our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 20, 7 pm, at the Milton-Freewater Senior Center, 311 N. Main Street. Members will be eligible to vote for our Board of Directors for the upcoming year.

KPTV, Channel 12 (Fox, Portland) has added an additional subchannel, 12.4 which is DABL-TV, a new “lifestyle” network. If this is not displaying on your television you may have to rescan your tv to get it. The rescan function is usually accessed from the menu button on your remote.
