There are moments when you can actually watch possibility being built. The past month has been just that!

We are incredibly grateful to DPR Construction, Aaron Rigg, Century Painting, Howards Rug Co, San Diego Lighting Associates (SDLA), Dynalectric, and our structural engineer, Robert Randall of Sauiful Bouquet, for the countless early mornings, long days, expertise, and heart they've poured into bringing our newest Future Center at A Step Beyond to life.

What may look like construction today is so much more than walls, paint, lighting, and flooring. It's a space where students will discover new possibilities, build confidence, connect with mentors, and begin shaping their futures.

None of this happens without partners who believe in investing in young people and who are willing to roll up their sleeves to make that vision a reality.

From all of us at Project Next and A Step Beyond, thank you for your generosity, your craftsmanship, and your unwavering commitment to our students. We are beyond excited to see this space take shape.

Stay tuned... we can't wait to share more photos as the transformation continues. The best is yet to come! 💚

A big thank you to the Encinitas Rotary Club for welcoming our team yesterday and giving us the opportunity to share more about Project Next! What a fun group of engaged community leaders!

We were so grateful for the enthusiasm, thoughtful questions, and genuine excitement about our mission and the students we serve. It was clear that this is a group that truly lives Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self, and we loved hearing how eager everyone was to find ways to support young people in our community.

A special thank you to Kerry Witkin for inviting us and giving us the opportunity to introduce Project Next.

We left feeling energized and excited about the connections made today and what might grow from them. Together, we can help even more students gain the clarity, confidence, and connections they need to own their next! 💚

A big thank you to Anna Capovilla with Roche for visiting our Escondido Future Center!

We loved having the opportunity to share more about Project Next, show her our space, and talk about the ways we’re helping students connect their potential with opportunity. We’re grateful for community partners like Anna who take the time to learn more about our work and invest in the future of our students.

Thank you for stopping by, Anna! We’re so glad you’re part of the Project Next community. 💚

Today, on National Nonprofit Day, we’re thinking about what it takes to build a future with intention.
Fittingly, our word of the month is PREPARATION.
Last Friday, we brought our Project Next staff and Board of Directors together to reflect, ask hard questions, think boldly, and prepare for what comes next. Because preparation isn’t just something we encourage in our students. It’s something we owe them.
Every plan we strengthen, every partnership we build, and every decision we make helps ensure that when a young person begins asking, “What comes next for me?” they don’t have to figure it out alone.
Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing a more personal side of preparation, introducing you to the people behind Project Next, who they dreamed of becoming when they were young, and what preparation means to them today.
Because none of us had it all figured out at 16 or 17.
But with the right preparation, guidance, and people in our corner, possibility has a way of becoming a plan.
Here’s to preparing for what’s NEXT. 💚

We want to thank the entire ASML team for hosting our students on Wednesday's Career Expedition! Like last year, it was an outstanding experience, and we truly appreciate the time, planning, and enthusiasm.

We surveyed the students after the visit, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

Some highlights include:

⭐ 74% of students had never heard of ASML before the visit, meaning your team introduced them to an entirely new company and career pathway.

⭐ Students' average familiarity with careers in the industry increased from 2.3 before the visit to 3.5 afterward (on a 5-point scale).

⭐ 63% rated the experience as highly valuable (4 or 5 out of 5) in helping them learn about careers and workplaces.

Many students shared that they:

💡 learned about careers they had never considered,

💡 gained a better understanding of the skills needed in the industry,

💡 felt more confident about their future career direction, and

💡 left interested in learning more about ASML and careers within the company.

A few comments that stood out:

✨ "I loved personally talking with interns and learning about advanced concepts and projects worked on at ASML."

✨ "I enjoyed watching the jobs of interns as I will need that knowledge for my internship next year and major project in two years."

✨ "Learning about the machines and how they work was interesting."

✨ "The leaders were very kind."

✨ "The company itself has very interesting processes and technology... very informative discussions and diagrams."

One of our goals during Career Expeditions is to help students recognize the durable skills that employers value most. Students overwhelmingly observed ASML employees and interns demonstrating collaboration, communication, critical thinking, leadership, and a growth mindset throughout the day, reinforcing that these skills are essential to success regardless of career path.
