To an outside observer, it might have looked like a slightly schizophrenic bunch as one moment we’re laughing, the next crying, sometimes both at once as we recounted the colorful, wonderful life of Frank Thomas. What was wrong with these people, one might ask, if they didn’t know the profound security of belonging to a Shepherd who collects our tears and a Lamb who was slain so we could all be eternally healed. When we took a small team to El Salvador in June we had no idea the hunger we’d find for solar powered Talking Bibles in Spanish. Whether it was the villages surrounding La Concordia Foursquare, the people living on Forgotten Island, or the men and women in the prisons one thing was clear- we hadn’t brought enough Talking Bibles. We aren’t going to make that mistake again. Today our team of 18 prepared 500 Talking Bibles at a value of $25,000.00.
They will be used for the blind, elderly, and for non readers. They will now also be used in prisons! Our team prayed over each one today in preparation for our trip at the end of October. Thank you for your generosity in making this possible! “But how can they call on Him if they have not put their trust in Him? And how can they put their trust in Him if they have not heard of Him? And how can they hear of Him unless someone tells them?” Romans 10:14

You can’t rush a sunrise any more than you can rush the Spirit of God. Somehow, I walked right by this odd sight yesterday. Thankfully, the God of second chances opened my eyes to something I’ll never forget. Let me back up and explain…

You know what it's like to be stuck.
Regret you can't undo. A wound you're still guarding. A season you've been white-knuckling alone.
Sunday we looked at the Good Shepherd — the one who doesn't just call you out of the mess, but bled to buy you out of it.
He doesn't grudgingly receive the lost. He goes and finds them. 🐑

According to a study in Memory and Cognition it's not just that repetition works, it's that repetition spread out over time compounds. The question is whether I’m paying attention to what Jesus has been saying. Repetition leads to restoration. Repetition leads to revelation. Repetition leads to redemption. Repetition is like an anchor for the heart in the tempest of change. How many parents have said, “If I have to tell you one more time…” — and, inevitably, we will, and we do. Why?
