Neutered Male | 1 year | Poodle Mix | 6 lbs

Sq**rt is tiny, adorable, and absolutely irresistible. He can be a little shy when you first meet him, but once he feels comfortable, he loves being in your lap and close to his person. At just 6 pounds, he’s the sweetest little companion with plenty of that classic Poodle personality. Sq**rt is ready to find someone who will happily make room for this tiny guy in their heart—and lap!

The fostering experience: it comes with many preconceived notions. "It's too hard to take in a homeless dog. It's too hard to love a dog and then let go. The dog can't handle it."

Fostering a dog is actually one of the most unbelievably rewarding, amazing, and truly special experiences you can have.

Imagine meeting a dog whose world was just turned upside down, many times hours away from euthanasia, and suddenly they are driving away with you and have a completely new start at life. An amazing life. All because you stepped up...

Imagine spending the next few weeks caring for that dog, feeding them their first meal, watching them fall asleep, and rest away the stress. Enjoying all the joys in life they may have not experienced. Playing with you, snuggling up for pets, showing you their goofy side.

Then imagine picturing the perfect home for that dog. Maybe someone who has another dog friend for them loves weekend hikes and lots of outdoor adventures. Someone who will love them and give them everything they deserve and more!

Then that day comes! It can be bitter sweet. You may have pictured this dog in your life, but the timing isn't right, or you already have another dog or you want to keep fostering and saving more dogs. But you know deep down, this dog has a perfect home waiting. You get to watch the connection between the new family and your foster dog. You remember that unsure dog just a few weeks ago who was on the brink of an unknown fate, and now you watch this dog blossom and fall into the arms of this wonderful adopter.

You say goodbye. Yes, it's hard. The first few fosters can be especially sad to say goodbye to. It's hard to love and let go. But once you get through it, the other side is so magical.

You start getting updates. You see photos of your foster running in the snow with their new people, meeting the family and friends, and enjoying all the love and snuggles you once gave him. And at that moment, you know it was all worth it. You changed that dogs life forever. You changed that person's life forever. You feel the most amazing feeling that you will remember for eternity...

And then you can't wait to do it all over again ♥️

George is the kind of dog who quietly finds his way into your heart and stays there. Our sweet boy is looking for a loving fospice home.

George has a heart murmur, and after undergoing a Balloon Valvuloplasty at UC Davis in October 2025, we were hopeful for a better outcome. Sadly, at his recheck in February 2026, we learned the procedure wasn’t successful, and his murmur is now in the severe range. After speaking with the cardiology team at UC Davis we do not think further surgeries would be successful.

What matters most is this: George doesn’t know any of that. He isn’t in pain. He isn’t suffering. He’s just a young, happy dog who still wants to play, explore, and be loved.

At around 2 years old and 37 pounds, George has so much life and sweetness to share. He loves wrestling and chasing with his foster siblings, though he takes a little time to feel comfortable with new dogs. Because of that, he’d do best as an only dog or with a calm, well-matched companion after slow introductions. No cats in the home with George, as he does have stronger play style.

Walks are one of his favorite things. He enjoys getting out for a stroll or a short jog.  When something feels new or uncertain, he may pause and take it all in, but a few treats and a little encouragement help him move forward. He loves food, which makes him eager to learn.

George isn’t meant for busy dog parks or chaotic environments. What he really needs is a calm, steady adult only home where he can feel safe.

Caring for him is simple. He takes his pill medication twice a day with his meals without any fuss.

Hello there, compassionate hearts! I'm Java, a 5 year old staffy who's looking for a special place to call home – one where patience and tranquility reign. If you're in search of a loyal companion to share life's quiet moments with, I might just be the perfect match you've been waiting for.

My heart is as big as my soulful eyes, and my loyalty knows no bounds. While I may appear reserved at first, it's because I'm seeking a calm and understanding human who appreciates the beauty of patience. Once I build a bond, my affection and devotion will shine through, and I'll be your steadfast companion through thick and thin.

I thrive in peaceful environments, where the hustle and bustle of life is replaced by the serenity of soft moments. I relish leisurely in snuggling in my bed, quiet cuddles, and gentle interactions. My ability to appreciate the subtle joys in life will surely bring a sense of tranquility to your days. I am good with other dogs and enjoy playing once i’m comfortable.
