We had a wonderful Expanded Horizons Outing today, exploring Balboa Park through a scavenger hunt. Our focus today was putting our High Five Pillars and 6 Wells of Wellness into action. We had lots of fun! We’ll be back at it in two weeks with our next Courageous Conversations Workshop. Great job Villagers!

There are only 3 more days until our upcoming Village of Promise Golf Tournament Fundraiser. We will be at Admiral Baker Golf Course hitting the greens, having fun, and raising funds for our amazing organization. There is still time to register as a golfer, sponsor a hole, or sponsor a child for our annual summer camp, Camp Promise. Your support is vital to us being able to provide an exceptional, trauma-informed program and a fun and impactful, 5-day summer camp every year for children who have experienced separation from a parent. As our Village Mother, Carmen Samuels, always reminds us, “It takes a village to keep a promise.” We appreciate your help in keeping our promise to inspire hope in the lives of children through mentorship. Last week, we had the honor of presenting a workshop to the wonderful parents of Horace Mann Middle School. We had an amazing time talking about monitoring our inner voice. Do you speak to yourself like someone you love? Thank you to Horace Mann’s principal Dr. Hearn for inviting us as guest presenters and her support in helping us to accommodate 3 different languages for this diverse and dedicated community of parents. We can’t wait to come back! Don’t forget, you can help us continue supporting families and children impacted by the separation from a parent by signing up to play or become a sponsor for our upcoming golf tournament on Saturday, April 29th.
