The purpose or mission of Healing Hope Cat Sanctuary is three-fold:

First, we want to provide a safe permanent haven for cats with uncurable, chronic or terminal illness, old age, and/or personality problems. These cats are not animals that would be adoptable or could even be sustained in a normal animal shelter setting. Second, we seek to assist and support the San Clemente/Dana Point Animal She

lter (CASA) and Pet Project Foundation by fostering or permanently holding cats that once again are not suitable for adoption or even living at the local shelter facility. As we have done for many years, we help rescue and support San Clemente's special needs stray and feral felines that have not even come into the shelter system. Third, this sanctuary seeks to use holistic healing methods such as homeopathy, supplements, nutrition, herbs and flower essences in the treatment of the felines on the premises. Though allopathic medicine (surgery, antibiotics) are used when necessary, many of the animals that come here have conditions that are not treatable by these means. In these cases, owner/founder, Kim Rockshaw, utilizes her knowledge and professional training as a homeopath and naturopath (www.kimrockshaw.com), to bring healing to otherwise hopeless cases.

Very urgently important that you contact your State Representatives and tell them to vote NO on HR Bill 7159. This is being voted on soon. If you scroll down this post there is a link that lists your State Representative by state.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THAT NERVOUS LIONESS? Aziza doesn’t seem to remember her! When we first met Aziza, who had been a in Kuwait, she was so agitated and nervous that as she frantically paced, back and forth, she ran up the wall and dropped from the ceiling! Since arriving at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary in South Africa she has grown in confidence and stature. These days she loves to playfully stalk anyone passing her habitat, sometimes given away by her tail swaying above the long grass, before bounding out to give them a fright.

Aziza is the reality of the cub petting and trophy pet industry. Animals taken young from their mothers and later discarded. Right now in the US the important Big Cat Safety Act is under threat!

HR 7159, deceptively titled the “Protecting Local Zoos Act of 2026” aims to create multiple dangerous exemptions to the Big Cat Public Safety Act (BCPSA). If approved this bill would:

🐯Exempt Class B licensees i.e. animal dealers who buy and sell animals (including those who may want to buy, breed, or sell big cats as pets) from the BCPSA.

🦁Allow volunteers to come into direct contact with big cats.

🐯Exempt snow leopards, clouded leopards, and any hybrid of those species from the BCPSA.

🦁Allow a Class B or C licensee to export or import big cats to or from a foreign entity.

🐯 Allow individuals or entities that newly qualify for an exemption (Class B dealers) to cancel their registration if they registered to be grandfathered under the BCPSA.

The bill is set to be heard in committee TOMORROW, Wednesday, February 4th. In the US, please call/email your Representative TODAY and urge them to OPPOSE HR 7159: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

Please SHARE this post. It is sad that even now, still today, many people are unaware of how rat and mouse poisons affect ALL forms wildlife. Just say NO to using poisons or glue traps to get rid of little nuisance critters.
Hoping a poignant photo like this will help get the message across! Once again, please SHARE this on your timeline or other forms of social media.

Today, an owl’s life ended quietly.

Too weak to fly, barely able to open its eyes, it was found by a woman who rescues wildlife. She carried the small, fragile body indoors, wrapping it in warmth and care. For a brief moment, there was safety. Gentle hands. Soft light. Peace.

But the sickness was already too deep.

The owl had eaten a poisoned mouse. What was meant for a rodent traveled up the food chain, turning a simple hunt into a death sentence. There was no fight left to give. Only rest.

As its eyes slowly closed, the struggle ended.

This is how poison works. It does not stop with one animal. It spreads silently, harming creatures that were never the target. Owls, hawks, foxes, and other wildlife die not from hunger, but from a choice humans make.

There are other ways. Live traps. Catch and release. Solutions that do not ripple outward with harm.

All this owl wanted was food.
All it received was poison.

The wildlife of this country are in more danger than ever, as the Endangered Species Act is being weakened beyond words. Please read this article that gives options on contact your elected officials. Please don't give up ....speak up!

The Trump administration has launched the most aggressive rollback of the Endangered Species Act in decades — proposing rules that weaken habitat protections, make it easier for industry to override science, and block long-promised recovery plans for species like the gray wolf.

Here’s what’s at stake. The proposed rules would:
• Allow decisions about protecting a species to be influenced by uncertain economic impacts instead of relying on scientific evidence.
• Obstruct protections for species newly threatened by climate change and habitat destruction.
• Make it easier to delist imperiled wildlife before recovery is complete.
• Eliminate automatic protections for threatened species.
• Strip away critical habitat protections.

It’s only a matter of time before these weakened protections open the floodgates for an all-out assault on wolves. Once federal protections have been gutted, wolves become even easier targets for trophy hunters to do their worst.

Luckily, conservation groups just sued the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for refusing to create a national wolf recovery plan — a key step toward real federal protections, but they are up against a Goliath.

Now more than ever, we need YOUR voice to help us defend wolves and wildlife from imminent destruction.

👉 TAKE ACTION:
Tell Congress to defend the Endangered Species Act and reject any attempt to strip protections from wolves.
Contact your representatives here: www.congress.gov/members

Our voices matter. Our silence does too.
Stand for wolves before it’s too late.
