Met with the family of Juan Chavez Velasco at our LULAC General Meeting. The sister met with us to discuss the detention of her brother. She informed us that Juan is a DACA recipient and is being held in detention in Laredo since Feb. 18, 2026. We will continue to work with this family to advocate for the release of their loved one.

Here are some things the organizers are requesting:

1. Carpooling suggested
2. No parking at fire/EMS station
3. Bring non-perishable food for community members in need
4. Keep it peaceful/civil
5. ⁠Bring a speaker for music or megaphones for chants if you have one.
