📣 “This year, we are honored to welcome Domingo García as a guest speaker at La Caminata’s Human Rights Rally. He is a successful trial lawyer, civil rights advocate, and former Texas State Representative. He previously served as a Dallas City Council member, the youngest Mayor Pro Tem of Dallas, and a member of the Texas House of Representatives. He also served as the National President of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) from 2018 to 2024.”

It was truly our distinct honor to bring this opportunity to our community!! We set up a voter registration booth at the monthly Market Day on Robertson Street from 6:00PM-10:00PM. At our busiest peak time we were averaging approximately 12 voter registrations per hour! We had young adults registering to vote!! We had couples registering together!! Our biggest take away from the event was to hear from them how they had been wanting to register but didn’t know how or where! Thank you to our Volunteer Deputized Registrars (VDR) that spent the afternoon shift and/or the evening shift to make this possible!! SU VOTO ES SU VOZ!!

📣 Thank you to everyone that attended our inaugural “LULAC Cafecito y Platica” event.
📣 We heard from our distinguished guest speaker Mayor Pedro A. Galvan, "Pete".
📣 In attendance, we also had our City Manager of San Benito and representation from the San Benito EDC.
📣 Also in attendance was the district director for the office of Congressman Vicente Gonzalez who recognized local business owner, Sonia Becerra, for opening her 2nd restaurant in San Benito. She owns El Fogón Mexican restaurant located on Zillock Rd and most recently opened La Chiapaneca and more located on Robertson Street. Thank you Laura Matamoros!
📣 We also had City Police Chief Perea and other first responders.
