We are so very thankful for The Knights of Columbus #2785 out of Harlingen for their generous donation of 5 massive butterball Turkeys this morning. It is so very encouraging to have local support like this. Those outstretching their hands to bless others in great need. May The Lord bless and keep you!

Dear friends and family of La Posada Providencia.
We honor and remember the life and service of this beautiful Child of God! Sister Zita Telkamp lived her life for the love and care of God’s children from all over the world. Her compassion touched the lives of countless thousands of men, women, and children who passed through the doors of La Posada. Her sacrificial living, changed the course of those lives for the better and set God’s love upon them for their journey’s ahead.
Although this dear servant of God passed away yesterday, July 15th, 2025, from our presence, she is at rest in the presence of God and has obtained the prize which The Lord has called her heavenward.
Her life and dedication to God’s children and to La Posada Providencia will always be seen, felt and remembered.
Please keep her family, her loved ones, her friends and the Sisters of Divine Providence in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn but celebrated her promotion to glory!

June 20th is World Refugee Day! Through the ages, countless men, women, and children have fled their homes, communities, families and worldly possessions, seeking safety and Refuge, away from oppression, poverty, and dangerous conditions. La Posada Providencia has answered the call to help love and care for those seeking legal refuge in the U.S.. We have been in mission the last 35 years, along the southern Texas Boarder, with the ministry of welcoming the stranger and making a difference! We have seen more than 17,000 migrants and refugees from 93 different countries, come through our doors. Our long-term shelter ministry provides wrap-around services involving daily ESL tutorial, intensive case management, connection to pro-bono legal aid, job preparedness instruction, and connection to partnered organization providing medical, dental and psychological care. Your partnership and support enable us to continue in mission to those seeking legal refuge in the U.S.
