The 6th Annual Pop Keeler Disabled Deer Hunt was about so much more than deer hunting. Pop Keeler was a man loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him at Buckshot Hunting Club in Anson County.
Every member who met Pop enjoyed sitting back and listening to his stories, whether they were about his time serving our country or the many life mishaps he experienced along the way. Those stories, his personality, and the memories he left behind made him someone we will never forget.
Through Hands of a Sportsman, we were honored to celebrate Pop’s legacy by bringing together some deserving hunters and giving them the opportunity to experience the outdoors, make memories, and enjoy a day doing something we all love. The rain may have slowed the deer movement, but it couldn't dampen the spirits of the hunters, guides, and volunteers. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, fellowship, and eight deer harvested during this special weekend!
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to the members of Buckshot Hunting Club, all the guides and volunteers who gave their time and hearts to make this hunt possible, and everyone who financially supported this incredible weekend. It takes a special group of people to come together for something bigger than themselves, and this hunt was a beautiful reminder of what happens when people share a love for the outdoors and a desire to help others.
Pop may no longer be with us, but his memory lives on through every smile, every story shared, and every hunter who was blessed by this experience. As we look back on this special weekend, I can't help but believe Pop Keeler was looking down on us with that big smile on his face, proud to see his name honored in such a meaningful way.
This is what Hands of a Sportsman is all about—not just hunting deer, but honoring a life, serving others, and making memories that will last a lifetime. Inspire.Motivate Overcome
