United Way is proud to partner with Camp Fire Tayanoka.

Camp Fire is an organization dedicated to providing, through a program of informal education, opportunities for youth to realize their potential and to function effectively as caring, self-directed individuals responsible to themselves and to others; and to improving those conditions in society which affect youth.

Locally, Camp Fire Tayanoka offers Club programming where youth build relationships with self and others. Giving service is an important part of the club program.

Another important aspect of Camp Fire’s programming is environmental stewardship and education. Camp Fire Tayanoka presents in-school nature programs (18 subjects to choose from) to elementary schools and preschools throughout the school year. Summer day camps and resident camps are held at the council’s Camp Tayanoka. Nature education is a large part of the camping experience, but STEM programming has also been included in the programming.

Camp Fire Tayanoka’s “Salute to Hospitalized Veterans” program is offered to elementary schools. The focus of the programming is to educate students about veterans and what it means to give service in their community. Students create cards which are mailed to veterans hospitalized in VA hospitals throughout the nation.

To contact Camp Fire Tayanoka, call 330 385-0645.

Dear Donor,

It’s rivalry time! If you’re a Buckeye fan, then you know we’re all gearing up for a victory this year against Michigan! Can you help us beat them off the field, too?

United Way of Central Ohio is asking Buckeye fans and United Way Services of Northern Columbiana County supporters to join us in rallying behind a new competition: United Rivals. From Nov. 18 to Nov. 30, we’re throwing our support behind United Way of Central Ohio to help beat United Way for Southeastern Michigan in a two-week fundraising competition.

When you make a donation to United Way of Central Ohio at UnitedRivals.org, your money comes back to Columbiana County to directly support local initiatives to help our friends and neighbors succeed and thrive.

Every contribution counts, and fans who donate $50 or more will receive a limited-edition, scarlet and grey LIVE UNITED t-shirt. PLUS! Every $25 you give at UnitedRivals.org from Nov. 18 to midnight, Nov. 24 entitles you to an entry in a drawing for a Beat Michigan Package that includes two tickets to the OSU vs. Michigan game on Nov. 30, a parking pass and an invitation to tailgate before the game with former OSU player Mike Doss and his friends!

We’re counting on your help to make an impact here AND help Ohio show Michigan that we have the most generous fans in the land! Make your donation and check to make sure Ohio is in the lead from Nov. 18 to Nov. 30.

Thank you for making a difference right here in Northern Columbiana County. Go Bucks!

October 16, 2024 marks the 187th anniversary of the founding of what is now known as United Way. It all began in Denver on this date in 1887 when a priest, two ministers and a rabbi came together to collect funds to distribute to charities helping those in need. From those humble beginnings the United Way network is now worldwide with more than 1,100 local United Ways helping people succeed and thrive.
United Way of Northern Columbiana County has been serving the area since 1973. Please join our annual campaign to raise funds for sixteen partner agencies that provide 100,000 service deliveries annually. Answer our call to action at www.unitedwayofncc.org and donate today. Thank you.
