Honoring 42 Years of Leadership! Wednesday, Minnesota Retailers was proud to recognize Senator Ann H. Rest with our first-ever Lifetime Leadership in Retail Policy Award at our annual Retail+Policy Reception.
During 42 years in the Minnesota Legislature, Senator Rest has become one of Minnesota’s most respected voices on tax policy and a nationally recognized leader in the field. A retired CPA, she has brought technical expertise, thoughtfulness and a practical approach to some of the most complex issues facing our state.
For Minnesota’s retail community, her leadership on sales tax fairness has been especially important—helping ensure Minnesota’s tax laws kept pace as retail and the way consumers shop changed dramatically.
Senator Rest is retiring at the end of her current term, leaving behind an extraordinary record of public service and a legacy of listening, understanding the details and working toward fair, practical solutions.
