At just 12 years old, Illy turned to drugs and alcohol to cope with pain, trauma and feeling like he didn't belong. Years later, after addiction, prison and reaching a breaking point, he made a life-changing decision: he stepped into the Christ Recovery Center at UGMTC.

Mental health care is a vital part of the life-changing work happening every day at UGMTC. We want to get to the root of the issues that cause homelessness. Mental health disorders are considered to be about 3️⃣✖️ more prevalent among people experiencing homelessness than in the general population. Our Mental Health Clinic helps people take important steps toward healing and stability. 💜

We are currently hiring an Assistant Director for our Mental Health Clinic—an opportunity to help lead meaningful, trauma-informed care for those experiencing homelessness, hunger and addiction in our community.
