Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities

Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities Fighting homelessness, addiction and poverty in the Twin Cities since 1902.

Prayer reminds us that we never face struggles alone. 🙏

Each day at UGMTC, prayer is woven into the care we provide. We pray with guests and residents, for our community and for the staff and volunteers walking alongside people as they take steps toward healing and stability.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” —Colossians 4:2

Today, would you join us in prayer? Pray for people experiencing homelessness, hunger and addiction in our community—and for God to continue opening doors to life-changing transformation.

Financial stability can change what’s possible.

At UGMTC, 74% of residents exiting our programs improved their financial stability—learning and building skills, increasing income, managing resources and taking meaningful steps toward overall stability.

Because lasting change is about more than meeting today’s needs. It’s about helping people build a stronger foundation for the next chapter. A chapter full of what didn’t seem possible before.

Your support goes beyond a meal and a bed. It makes a meaningful difference for those in our programs who are being equipped with tools for a brighter future.

Thank you for rewriting stories like Bernard's.

At UGMTC, 24.4% of our adult residents are age 55 and older—each one with a story, a lifetime of experiences and a need for safe shelter, support and hope.

No one should face homelessness later in life. Through meals, shelter and Christ-centered, life-changing pathways, older adults are finding stability and a place to be seen, known and cared for.

Join us on in recognizing and uplifting senior citizens today.

August is National Make-A-Will Month—a good reminder that the impact of your generosity can extend far beyond your lifetime.

For longtime UGMTC supporter Rick Kleven, estate planning is about more than deciding where possessions will go. It’s about caring for the people you love, living out your values and continuing to support the causes that matter to you.

By including UGMTC in his estate plans, Rick is helping ensure that hope, healing and life-changing opportunities will be here for generations to come.

What do you want your legacy to make possible?

Sometimes, hope is waiting on a freshly made bed. đź’ś đź’™ đź’š

These encouragement and affirmation cards were placed on beds in UGMTC’s Men’s Emergency Shelter—a simple reminder to each man who walks through our doors that he is seen, valued and not alone.

Volunteers help create moments like this every day. Whether you’re serving a meal, helping prepare a welcoming space or lending a hand behind the scenes, your time can help someone take the next step toward hope and stability.

There’s a place for you at UGMTC. Come serve alongside us and be part of changing lives.

Transformation begins when someone can take an active role in their own healing.

At UGMTC, 94% of men and women exiting our programs report participating in their own wellbeing.

That means people aren’t simply receiving help. It reflects people taking meaningful steps toward healing, stability and a healthier future in multiple areas of their lives.

Mental health care, recovery support, Christ-centered care and other services work together to help each person address challenges, build on their strengths and take an active role in moving forward.

Because lasting transformation isn’t something that happens TO someone. It happens as people are supported and equipped to take the next step for themselves.

94% are participating in their own wellbeing. That’s hope in action.

Curious about our response? 🤔 You may have heard in the news that Saint Paul City Officials will be closing an encampment where people experiencing homelessness currently live.

We have been there for months... years... learning names and hearing stories... offering practical help and prayers... and inviting people into a safe place to lay their head at UGMTC.

All day tomorrow, our chaplains will provide support and transportation to anywhere a person might need to keep them safe. Read more about our response and plan below.
