The Josephine’s Garden Fund was established in 2011. The mission of this organization is to provide a place of respite, joy and hope to children battling

While in the hospital Josephine and I saw the need for an outdoor space for the children that they could access without an employee. I saw a rooftop on the 5th floor, that was not being used, where the pediatric oncology wing is and I was able to get the support from the hospital to design a garden. Josephine and I have a dream to create this magical outdoor escape.....

Now more than ever it must be done! It will bring joy to so many people and provide a place of respite for those going thru what sweet Josephine endured.... A place to blow bubbles, feel the elements and a place to dream! The art therapist whom saw Josephine before she died said that a child josephine's age has the fear of being forgotten. She said that it was so wonderful for Josephine to be a part of this project and to know that she was part of something with named after her and now for her! Josephine Elle Rispoli. Never forgotten!

The faculty, staff and students at Dorchester Elementary School in Woodcliff Lake hosted a “Day of Gold” for Josephine’s Garden! They raised over $1000!!!! THANK YOU ALL for your love and support! September may be pediatric cancer awareness month but kids get cancer EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR - so you too can host a “Day of Gold” any day of any month!

Everything changes for EVERYONE when a sibling is diagnosed with childhood cancer. A parent can never say again “don’t worry everything will be ok”… mommy cannot make this better. PTSD, loss of innocence, questions of safety and security … the list goes on … 🎗
