Tonight, we’re joining the Alzheimer's Foundation of America’s Light the World in Teal campaign to raise awareness and show support for everyone affected by Alzheimer’s. More than 7 million Americans are living with the disease, and every step toward greater awareness and discovery brings hope.

🇺🇸 YOU UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT! 🇺🇸

Congratulations to every Frater, Loyal Lady, and citizen who exercised their constitutional right to vote on November 3, 2026!

By casting your ballot, you honored the courage and sacrifices of those who marched, endured brutality, faced imprisonment, and even gave their lives so that future generations could have a voice in shaping this nation.

As the courageous civil rights and voting rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer once said:

“You can pray until you faint, but if you don’t get up and try to do something, God is not going to put it in your lap.”

Your vote was more than a choice. It was an affirmation of freedom, a tribute to those who paved the way, and a declaration that their sacrifices were not in vain.

Our democratic republic is strongest when its citizens participate, exercise their rights, and accept responsibility for shaping the future.

Regardless of the outcome of any election or the candidate you supported, you are a winner and a leader because you chose to participate rather than remain on the sidelines. You exercised your voice, fulfilled your civic responsibility, and demonstrated that democracy works best when the people make themselves heard!

The ELC will present the 2026 ELC Achievement Award to Racquel Oden U.S. head of International Wealth and Premier Banking and Private Banking at HSBC, at The ELC Recognition Gala on Oct. 30.

Over more than 25 years in financial services, Oden has built businesses and prepared the people who lead them. Her career runs through HSBC, JPMorgan Chase, Merrill Lynch, UBS and Morgan Stanley. She also chairs the Board of Directors of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

“She understands that leadership is measured in business results, certainly, but also in the people you prepare for greater responsibility and the doors you make easier for others to open,” said Michael C. Hyter, president and CEO of The ELC.

The ELC Achievement Award recognizes corporate executives whose careers reflect exceptional professional accomplishment, leadership and impact.
