The Royal Oak Symphony Orchestra thanks everyone who came out last Friday evening to hear our "Celebrating 250" concert and the 6:30 p.m. preconcert talk. It was a pleasure to present this program to you!

A Season of Wonder!
Join the Royal Oak Symphony Orchestra as we celebrate the holidays at our 7:30 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2026 concert. We welcome the exceptionally talented violinist Dr. Ji Hyun Kim as our featured soloist!

Come early at 6:30pm for our pre-concert talk. Hear Maestro Douglass and our soloist Dr. Ji Hyun Kim discuss the program!!

The program includes:
Overture Festiva by D. Shostakovich
A Christmas Festival by Leroy Anderson
Fantasia on Greensleeves by R. Vaughan-Williams
Christmas Overture by S. Coleridge-Taylor

Your ticket purchase and any additional donations you make support our mission to provide cultural enrichment through symphonic music, to provide qualified musicians from Royal Oak and surrounding communities an opportunity to perform symphonic music, to foster music education for both youth and adults, and to contribute to the enhancement of performing arts in the Royal Oak community. The Royal Oak Symphony Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all donations are tax-deductible.

Late Thursday afternoon, we were informed by CMN-TV that they are NOT coming out to livestream or record our concert tonight. While we are researching other ways to broadcast and record our event, the chances of finding an acceptable way of doing so are slim to none.
So - you are cordially invited to attend tonight's concert IN PERSON only at the Royal Oak Middle School! Be sure to come at 6:30 p.m. to hear Maestro Mark Douglass and composer Jonathan Bruce Brown in a pre-concert talk about our program!

Those who live in Royal Oak should have received their copy of Royal Oak Today magazine. You’ll notice on page 5 that the Mayor recommends spending the evening enjoying the Royal Oak Symphony Orchestra fall concert to “pumpkin spice up” your holidays!
We highly recommend that too - the concert is this Friday, October 23 at the Royal Oak Middle School. A preconcert talk at 6:30 pm with Maestro Mark Douglass and composer Jonathan Bruce Brown will provide insights into our concert program which starts at 7:30 pm.
